Israel to refrain from attacking Iran's nuclear sites, focus on military targets, sources say
Breitbart ^ | 10/08/2024 | YONAH JEREMY BOB

Israel is not expected to attack Iran's nuclear program but rather to focus on various kinds of military bases and intelligence sites, the Jerusalem Post has learned, following a New York Times report on the issue.

Confronted with the Times report, sources did not deny the thrust of the report, which predicted that Israel's retaliation against Iran for its massive October 1 strike on the Jewish state would fall more in the medium range of attack scenarios.

Further, the Post understands that Israel's attack on Iran - which virtually all top Israeli officials have publicly promised - will still be much more substantial than its narrower retaliation on April 19, when Iran's S-300 anti-aircraft missile system was damaged.

I can understand the decision...somewhat. What I don’t understand is letting Iran know you have taken those targets off the board.

Keep quiet regarding your strategy and let them sweat.

IMHO, that’s a bad mistake.
Should be numero uno on the target list.

“Sources say”??? Sources who do not have Israel’s survival at heart... For Israel to survive, they must attack and destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities.. A.S.A.P. If they don’t, Iran will eventually use nuclear weapons against them.

They can either attack Iran's nuclear program now, or wait for Iran's nuclear program to be used against them.

Hope this is a lie to trick the Iranians.

Otherwise, it is part of a real life dystopian end of the world novel like On the Beach, Fail Safe and Dr. Strangelove.
A Tom Clancy or Robert Ludlum novel with an unhappy ending.

Why wouldn’t Iran use ICBMS with nuclear warheads to hits Tel Aviv and US targets, or bring in merchandise containers on ships containing a nuclear bomb in a US city?

They are not nice folks over there.

Its like saying, “Our police will no longer shoot center of mass to stop the threat, but will concentrate on shooting the gun/knife out of their hand”.

I completely believe that Israel’s defense and Intel agcys do NOT leak the way that US does.

ANY info given/ obtained by the NYT is complete BS. Provided to them by Mossad. And being that is what Israel WANTS Iran to think.

Systematically taking Iran’s nuke sites OFF the table seems unlikely.

BUT, if they can get Iran to assume they are safe, and move (e.g.) air defenses someplace else and make it an easier target.. That would be nice.

There is discussion out there of a seismic event being registered in the Iranian desert a day or two ago that suggests a possible underground nuclear test. How this is changing the equation, I don’t know. Did that have something to do with Macron jumping ship?

Frankly, Israel's window of opportunity to destroy Iran's nuclear programs via military means without the joint help of the United States has been effectively closed.

Strikes against most of Iran's nuclear facilities would be ineffective and counterproductive, unless sites where assembled or partially completed nuclear weapons that pose an immediate threat can be targeted.

IMHO, the best short term course of action is to hit Iran's offensive military infrastructure as hard as possible to prevent attacks into Israel and to use surgical strikes against Iran's oil infrastructure to to shut down oil revenues but leave the oil fields untouched and under threat.

Hopefully, there will be a change in administration in the US and the Iranian threats can be properly addressed.

If Kamala is elected, Israel will have some very hard decisions to make. She is perhaps the worst person at the worst possible time to be dealing with the Iranian nuclear threat. Even Worse than John Kerry, if that were even possible.

This is my conclusion on why the Biden administration wants to pay Iran planeloads of cash and to protect it’s nuclear facilities, and why they support Israel by supplying weapons and defense against missile attacks but still try to contain the IDF’s activities (’Ceasefire now!’).

Biden and Obama believe that having one strong power in the region, i.e. Israel, is not a good thing. They strive for ‘balance’. It’s the same way that Obama wanted to ‘lead from behind’ and weaken the United States. ‘Balance’ is the goal. Therefore, a strong Iran counters a strong Israel and the region is in balance. Similarly a weaker United States is balanced by the EU and possibly by Russia and China. The world is in balance.

These guys also believe that countries with nuclear weapons will suddenly become ‘mature’. They no longer have to fear external attack and they will become more responsible and stable world citizens due to their increased power.

Therefore, it makes sense to protect Iran’s nuclear program and accelerate it’s development as much as possible. It will increase ‘balance’ and ‘stability’ in the region when Iran can balance Israel.

Of course, the democrats are incredibly stupid and don’t understand that Iran spending decades building proxy armies to fire tens of thousands of missiles at Israel and funding suicide bombers and the like does not support the idea that they will suddenly become stable.

If Iran gets a nuclear weapon, they will use it. Israel’s only choice is to eliminate the program and ideally eliminate the mullahs. Israel is simply choosing to destroy Iran’s ability to attack through their proxies first.
