Local officials in Coachella, California, who support former President Donald Trump are pushing back at elected officials who say he is not welcome and who describe him as a “threat.”
Area news outlet KESQ reported Monday that Trump will be speaking at a rally in the area on Saturday evening. Supporters are expected to come from California and swing-state Arizona, as well as from the local community.
KESQ noted that Coachella Mayor Steven Hernandez, Rep. Raul Ruiz (D-CA), Coachella Councilmember Frank Figueroa, and Indio Councilmember Waymond Fermon — who once worked security for Trump at a local casino — are all opposing Trump’s visit. Fermon called Trump a “threat to our needs and to democracy itself.”

We believe in free speech, unless we don’t agree with it...
The demonrat has no shame or morality whatsoever.
Your typical low IQ Democrat.
He defines democracy as what he wants. How corrupt of him.
Again, with the misuse of democracy. We are not a democracy (yet, what they want on our way to Marxism) we are a constitutional republic. Take back our language. More effort needs to be made on the part of people who get to use the tv platform and social media to point this out every chance we get.
If you would show them solidarity in their mission in life by raising your right hand and yelling Sieg Heil, they might be nicer to you.
Figured someone would raise the TDS flag when I read he was going there. Thanks for not letting us down.
This is a shout out by democrat politicians to various CIA/FBI/DHS assets and assorted crazies to “GET TRUMP!”
There will be another attempt on his life. Book it.
Look in a mirror Fermon.
“We believe in free speech, unless we don’t agree with it...”
A nation cannot exist without essential values held by the overwhelming majority of the nation. The fact politicians at all levels feel free to discuss openly and impose censorship is the strongest evidence the God given rights written into the Constitution are no longer cherished by a large minority of the population if not a majority. Without free speech there cannot be a free society.
It is the supreme irony the politicians who claim to be protecting “our democracy” have the loudest voices demanding censorship. We are close to reaching the point where truly free speech is a memory. When voices in opposition to tyranny are suppressed, tyranny will reign.
Our pledge of allegiance says “and to the Republic, for which it stands” A Republic has protections built in for minorities. A democracy is like two foxes and one chicken voting on what to have for lunch. That is exactly what the Democrats want with them in charge. It is actually a dictatorship
