Except the leftward ratchet of the electorate means today’s far right is way to the left of the Social Democrats of the pre-WW2 era. The main right wing aspect of the Freedom Party is its opposition to open borders. And, in contrast to the Nazis and the left today, which supports it, the Freedom Party opposes euthanasia.

Far-right” - libturd adjective, meaning “any incrementally minute quantifiable political position to the right of Marx, Mao, Pol Pot, Castro, Obama, Biden, Harris, Hitler”

“Political analysts say the far-right achieved this electoral victory by tapping into voters’ concerns over immigration, inflation, and the war in Ukraine. “

Hopefully the same will happen here.

The voters in Austria had the same concerns many Americans have: 1) immigration, 2) inflation, and 3) war in Ukraine.

For the first time since WW2, Austria moved in a strong way toward common sense conservative values. This could be a foreshadowing of events to come here in the US.

“Far-right”? Moderately conservative.

But they managed to squeeze a whopping thirteen “far-rights” into that short article. Impressive.

Unlike Germany, Austria was never really de-Nazified because they somehow convinced the world that they were the first victim of Nazi aggression and not a willing accomplice. Even though Hitler was of course Austrian (as were many other top Nazis).
