I was thinking about this just this morning.
At the debate, Tim Walz spoke a lot about a woman named Amanda who died, apparently, as a result of recent changes in abortion laws. The tragic death of this woman was a huge deal for Tim and he clearly thought that her death was a powerful argument in favor of the Democrat policies on abortion.
Well, I’m sorry that woman died. But I know 60 million children died because of Democrat policies on abortion. That ought to count for something.
And how about illegal immigration? How many US citizens have been killed by illegal immigrants? Murders, drunk driving accidents, etc. Quite a few Americans have paid with their lives because of Democrat policies.
But the Democrats don’t care about the millions of deaths that they have caused. They embrace Death, and they reject Life. They have no moral ground to stand on.
Good info and analysis. Thank you. I consider abortion our national sin. May God have mercy on us. How could we become so evil as a people?
I’ve been trying for 15 years, with very little success, to encourage Pro-lifers to do two things:
1) Use the term “pre-born baby” instead of “unborn baby”. Because before something can be undone, it must first be done. A baby’s birth cannot be undone because that would involve somehow pushing the baby back into the mother’s womb. The term “pre-born baby” is accurate.
2) Every Pro-lifer who is arguing about abortion should challenge the pro-abortionist to do a DNA test between the mother and the pre-born baby. If ever such a test was conducted, it would prove that the mother and the fetus are two separate individual human beings. That should be pounded in. DNA DNA DNA. Make the left argue that DNA testing doesn’t work.

“They do NOT have the “moral high ground””
They don’t. Many might say that Unrestrained sex and perhaps conceiving and then destroying an unwanted baby shouldn’t be illegal, but no one’s going to say that’s moral behavior.
Because the left is not using the black and white language, even if they mean that way. Conservatives use black and white language, like no abortion at all with no exception. This allows wiggle room for the left to gain sympathy (a poor black woman who was raped, etc) but not for the right.
I am not blaming conservatives, because their conviction comes from their religious beliefs. Just stating my observation.
This issue is a loser.
Even married women (R) who lives in the suburbs are pro-choice. That's what we've found out according to the referendums in Kansas and Ohio.
Let each state legalize abortion and call it a day.
Everyone on both sides of the aisle uses the phrase “abortion rights” and that’s a problem right there. Suppose men demanded their “rape rights.”
We should say “abortion privilege.”
Most women will identify with the theoretical woman who died because of not getting an abortion over a million dead babies who actually died.
Liberals say, “Abortion is fine because it’s not really murder.”
Conservatives say, “Murdering babies is fine so long as the state you live in says it’s okay and because I want you to vote for me.”
Both are amoral positions.
Conservatives say, “Murdering babies is fine so long as the state you live in says it’s okay and because I want you to vote for me.”
Conservatives say centralized govt laws will not fix the problem. We accept the idea we will have to fight for this in the market place one on one. We like the idea of it moved to state and local as our founding fathers designed.
Well put.
In a very heated argument with my leftie niece, she said, “You people just don’t get it, it has nothing to do with abortion. It is all about a woman’s right to choose and men staying out of our bodies”. Big mistake for her……….
