IMHO, the problems with pulling off a pre-emptive strike on Iran is the same as the problem Iran had with launching many missiles against Israel. What do you do about the nations in between them? Will they shoot down Israeli planes and missiles like they shot down Iranian missiles?

Perhaps if we're instead talking about a pre-emptive strike on Iranian proxies near Israel, that might be do-able.

I dont think they “fear” them as much as they are annoyed by them. They might fear the Iranians attacking their ports and depots. But they pay a lot for us to provide the ultimate security for them.

As long as Iran keeps focused on fighting the Jews, the KSA will sit back and build up their forces. When the time comes, Iran would not do well if the entire area goes south.
