“She’s thinking with her heart and not her brain,” said aviation manufacturing consultant Gerald Adler to the Globe on Monday. “Unleaded fuel was approved for piston-engine planes in 2022, but the problem is that a lot of engines are not rated for unleaded fuels. Could they run on it? Yes. But the problem comes with testing. Not all have been tested with it properly and still need leaded av gas. And there is no way that testing of all relevant engines can be done by 2031. More time is needed. Whoever came up with this bill just doesn’t realize the nuts and bolts behind this.

Furthermore, EVERY last Person that VOTED YES on this issue should be Permanently Put on the NO FLY List, they are a Clear and Present Danger to the entire Aviation Communiuty and should NEVER be allowed on Any Airplane.
And lastly, I am at my hangar at Whiteman Airport in Pacoima. This entire area is a minimum of 90% Illegal ALiens who shouldn't be here in the first place.
When asked about the danger to aircraft as a result, Governor Newsom replied, “well they can pull over and call AAA.”

Idiots.
All they do in California is BAN BAN BAN and UP taxes
BUMP
Aviation gasoline? Isn’t aviation fuel basically kerosene?
No, that is for jets. Gasoline is used for piston engines.
Forty years ago, I was working in California, and could see the trend. I told folks, "Keep this up, and the entire state will be one big park - and everyone living here will be unemployed, homeless, and sleeping on park benches."
They thought I was joking...
This happened with cars in +/-1973. Engines made for leaded fuel have soft-steel valves, as the lead protects the valves from overheating. When leaded car fuel was outlawed everyone’s cars broke down due to burned up valves.
Maybe we can get John Denver to test fly some of the planes.
AVIATION PING!.................
“Aviation gasoline? Isn’t aviation fuel basically kerosene?”
Aviation GASOLINE!
Jet fuel is, not prop fuel..........
Kerosene for jet engine.high octane gasoline for piston engine.
and by the way big trucks and farm equipment mostly use diesel fuel while cars, light trucks use gssoline.
And most recreational boats use ethanol free gasoline.
Flex fuel engine can use high % ethanol but that stuff is not for ordinary IC engines.
One size does not fit all.
“This happened with cars in +/-1973. Engines made for leaded fuel have soft-steel valves, as the lead protects the valves from overheating. When leaded car fuel was outlawed everyone’s cars broke down due to burned up valves.”
Mine didn’t.
Why did you indicate sarcasm after your quote? The quote sounds factual with this idiot governor.
“Flex fuel engine can use high % ethanol but that stuff is not for ordinary IC engines.”
Lots of ordinary IC engines have been converted to E85. Just a tune and increased fuel flow.
With that simple conversion my 750 hp 5.0 would go to about 850 hp.
All airlines should discontinue service to California. If for even a week, put the hurt to Newsom.
Trump will show gruesum newscum who’s the boss. This is a federal issue. FGN
“ Furthermore, EVERY last Person that VOTED YES on this issue should be Permanently Put on the NO FLY List, they are a Clear and Present Danger to the entire Aviation Community and should NEVER be allowed on Any Airplane.”
Nope. They all need to be loaded into a plane full of unleaded gas and taken for a long test ride over the Pacific Ocean. Let them learn first hand the dangers of unleaded fuel in piston airplane engines.
