Speaker Johnson Caves, Moves Three-Month Spending Bill as Chuck Schumer Gloats

Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) are rushing through a three-month spending bill Wednesday in a whirlwind development that will send Congress home through the election.

The agreement gives Schumer what he has long craved – the opportunity to pass a spending bill in the lame duck session after the election but before the new Congress is seated in January, locking in spending levels and policy priorities before an expected Republican takeover in the upper chamber relegates him to minority leader.

“Speaker Johnson Caves, Moves Three-Month Spending Bill as Chuck Schumer Gloats”

Mikey, here’s a clue: if Upchuck Schumer is gloating, you’ve made yet another big mistake.

We have one party and one wing is a little less communist than the other. The few true conservatives and patriots in that wing are kept around for show.
But we’ve saved democracy!

That’s why I don’t vote for Republicans. In some ways Republicans are worse because they vote like Democrats, but use rhetoric the base wants to hear. They always arrange a close vote, so that most of the Republicans can scream they voted against it to their constituents - but you notice what the Democrats want always passes anyway, with just enough Republican votes.

The whole thing is a giant single party scam. That’s why my voting days are over. It really doesn’t change anything.

Speaker Johnson also said there will not be an omnibus bill when this CR runs out. If he keeps his word, Schumer will be shut down before Christmas.

We haven’t had a regular budget since 1997. This CR and Omnibus stuff has to end. One way to do it would be moving to zero baseline budgeting. These “automatic” increases only exist in government budgets. No business could survive such lunacy.

It’s all the incredibly biased and liberal media.

What can be done to fix this?

The GOP has too many RINOS working with Democrats, too many serving their corporate donors, too many bowing to the liberal press, too many “I’m in it for ME.”

Johnson needs to go but must be replaced with a Pelosi-like strongman willing to crack heads, publicly and privately.

Just change your party to democrat and they will vote for you for the next 100 years or so.

Republicans really have no real leaders in Congress, on either Chamber. They always cave and never keep their members in line.

“I can count on one hand the number of republican senators that will uphold the constitution.”

Quite right. Remember how many senators did the right thing back on that “infamous” day of January 6, 2021? Wasn’t it about 3? Josh Hawley was one.... and maybe Ted Cruz and Rand Paul?
