“Vegas is where you get married, Reno is where you get divorced,” as the saying goes in the US state of Nevada.
State law allowing some legal cases to be conducted more quickly and discreetly than elsewhere in the US means this relatively small city has served as the quiet backdrop to dramatic family fallout over a global media empire.
Rupert Murdoch and his family flew in from all over the world to determine how the empire would be divided among his children when the 93-year-old patriarch dies.
For six days, the city saw a seven-car convoy of black SUVs carry the media mogul and his family to the Washoe County Courthouse.
The succession battle, which concluded on Monday, was heard in private.
The court has given no indication on when a decision will come. When this does arrive, it will be unavailable to the public.
The senior Murdoch usually left the courthouse after lunchtime, while his four children stayed inside until nightfall - all keeping their lips sealed as they exited.
Whatever the outcome of the case, it will have far-reaching consequences extending beyond the family drama, shaping the trajectory of the world's most influential conservative media company.

The RINO/lefty contingent are trying to gain control while the word is Rupert wants the more conservative son to take over...
NewsCorp also owns the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, and Sky News, The Sun, and The Times in England, NewsCorp Australia, and the HarperCollins publishing house.

I doubt a move to the left. Their conservative audience is huge. Too much money at stake, but CEOs have made critical mistakes before, Budweiser, Harley Davidson, etc. Just have to hope whoever takes the helm has some sense.
“Conservative” news had a pretty good run. Back to the dark ages.....
No bet here. I don’t know enough about them, but I heard one of them is conservative, don’t know about the others.
Fortunately, with the rise of Independent media which grows stronger and stronger every year, Fox no longer has a monopoly on the Right of center market. Fox owns the Establishment RINO wing of the Republican party.....the wing that has been steadily losing the civil war within the party.
As is, the Baby Boomers are the last generation that watches cable news much. Gen X, Millenials and Zoomers do not with most getting their news from podcasts, social media and others on YouTube and Rumble. So even if Murdoch’s older Leftist kids do take over and drag Fox radically to the Left, it won’t be anywhere near the blow it would have been 20 years ago.
Despicable lefties will win
Naive? Never. I don’t make decisions based on a whim. I said I heard one was conservative. I didn’t say it came from me, or that I believed it. Ignorant of the family, perhaps, but not naive, nor gullible.
Not exactly a “conservative” media org
More like, less flaming liberal than the others
They lost me after the 2016 Pres debate hatchet job on Trump and I’ve never been back
MAGA conservatives need to get serious about not depending on media whose ownership can pass by inheritance to lefty heirs ir their lefty wives. That includes media owned by Trump.
There goes the only network which resembles a true source of news.
Lawfare on the Murdoch empire, I wonder where the money is coming from for the legal fees to unseat the conservative heir? Soros? The DNC ? Enquiring minds want ti know.
The Nazifuckation of the media continues.
Sixty% of wealth transfers are lost by the second generation, and 90% by the third. Only 10% of wealth passes beyond the third generation. The overall financial environment, income tax regulations, and estate tax laws fluctuate dramatically over a three-generation time-span.

I haven’t watched Fox News since 2020, except for Gutfeld occasionally. I see Fox as mostly left-leaning now.
Newsmax, RAV and OAN are my go-to channels for news now.
Yes Newsmax is very good, there are a lot of old Fox people on it. Greta, Kelly,Ed Henery,Rick Leaventhal, Rob Schmidt and some others.
