Only 45% of Americans age 50 and older say they're likely to get the updated COVID-19 vaccine this season, according to a poll today from the University of Michigan.
The poll shows many at high risk of severe illness appear unlikely to seek the vaccine, and interest in an updated vaccine varies widely by age-group, education level, and other factors.
The results come from the National Poll on Healthy Aging conducted in August. At the time of polling, new COVID vaccines were not yet widely available, but they had been approved for use and endorsed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Among adults 75 and older, 59% said they were likely to get the updated COVID-19 shot, with 49% of them saying they’re very likely and 10% saying they're somewhat likely. Among adults 65 to 74, 51% said they were likely to get the vaccine.
Level of education plays a role Among those aged 50 to 64, more said they were unlikely to get the new vaccine; 55% unlikely, compared with 37% likely.
In 2023, nearly half of all US COVID hospitalizations were among those ages 75 and older.
The poll showed demographic differences as well. Adults with a Bachelor's degree were more likely to get vaccinated—54%, compared with 41% of those with lower levels of education. Overall, women were slightly more likely than men to say they would be vaccinated.

My wife had to take the shot to save her job in the hospital. Along with 2 or 3 boosters. She still got covid, although mild. I did not get the shots and got covid also, but also mild, about the same condition as her. Imho the shots did nothing.
Using all the "official" data to calculate the proper and well defined "mortality rate" for Covid across almost four years, one learns it is less than one-tenth of one percent. 0.08 % over the entire span of the media-hyped pandemic.
The University of Minnesota is not a neutral news reporting entity. It takes money from government and big pharma. On the same UNIVERSITY web page, they are reporting H1N1 news, H9N2 news, and 18 cows in California "infected." Eighteen.
Teams at Walgreens and elsewhere are selling. This is marketing, first and last. Sold by fear, as by "team" marketing. As by government-sponsored university programs and their web sites.

Exactly, and the new strains are mutated and less deadly the more mutated they are. Given that original covid was very survivable to everyone but those with 4 or more comorbidities, there is no reason to get vaccinated. Kids absolutely do not need to be vaccinated. Parents should put their foot down and refuse to allow their kids to be vaccinated for covid.

The CDC implied that the non-mRNA vaccine will be distributed because there might be a shortage of the original mRNA vaccine.

The CDC is waving a White Flag because a very large number of smart well informed Americans refuse to be test animals for mRNA vaccines.
People still wear masks- saw folks in a grocery store wearing them just the other day- it must be hell living with that much fear in their lives.

Every time I have taken a flu shot, I have gotten a bad case of the flu. If I don’t take the shot, I don’t get sick.
A while back I heard that the flu shot would be combined with a covid shot.
Nothing doing. I am on blood pressure meds and will not take the chance with the clot shot.

I have a cousin and child hood friend that both died from heart attack, three months after taking the COVID jab.
They were men, 52 and 54 years of age. Prior to the injection, they were both in good health and NEVER had heart problems.
I more than suspect that the jab killed them. It is NOT a vaccine or inoculation. It is an experimental mRNA solution that transforms the human cells. People that take this dangerous COVID shot are just guinea pigs for Big Pharma.
