Majoring in 14th century French art (if there is such a thing) gives a person a deep appreciation for our people and our shared European heritage.

It is the anthesis of majoring in Women’s Studies.

True, unfortunately the contemporary Right in the US seems to think non-western immigrants from Asia are a good thing.

Incorrect. Those two are exactly the same.

It can be helpful to take a class or two of 14th Century French Art. But don't major in it unless your goal is to be a professor. And you should research those prospects quite thoroughly.

There is ZERO demand in the real world for French Art majors, just like there is ZERO demand for Women's Studies major.

Almost as valuable as that degree in underwater basket weaving...

And yet the Women's Studies major can more easily find a job. Ignoring the Starbucks or Hot Topic positions they're both eligible for, a Women's Studies major would certainly be welcomed into the fold of HR. Many academia positions could, likewise, look for someone of such caliber. French Art? There might be a couple museums that might hire you, but they're probably more likely to go for the Women's Studies major instead!
