Revealed: Russia anticipated Kursk incursion months in advance, seized papers show
The Guardian ^ | 9/20/24 | Sean Walker

Russia’s military command had anticipated Ukraine’s incursion into its Kursk region and had been making plans to prevent it for several months, according to a cache of documents that the Ukrainian army said it had seized from abandoned Russian positions in the region.

The disclosure makes the disarray among Russian forces after Ukraine’s attack in early August all the more embarrassing. The documents, shared with the Guardian, also reveal Russian concerns about morale in the ranks in Kursk, which intensified after the suicide of a soldier at the front who had reportedly been in a “prolonged state of depression due to his service in the Russian army”.

I wrote this three or four weeks on a thread about the Kursk Pocket. I still stand by my take.

My position on this evolved over the first week of the operation. Last summer the Ukes made a very similar type incursion towards Belgorod. Supposedly, there was some type nuclear material that could be had if their mad dash was fast enough. It wasn’t.

Although much larger, it’s the same operation. Who can’t handicap that boob Z’s moves? In the desperate situation the Ukes were in, the Russians figured they’d bait him into a trap with the Kursk Nuclear PP. The Russians probably also figured the PR opportunity would be a great lure as well. We all saw the insufferable western crowing and strutting. That’s was certainly something Z desperately wanted.

The area is as desolate, unpopulated and as undeveloped as any on the battle lines. It is heavily wooded, lots of streams and hills. It’s lousy for maneuver except for the one road in.

The Russians pulled troops back and let their defenses fall into disarray perhaps, the come hither facade. The Ukes took the bait. The Ukes came barreling down the one road with the very best equipment and troops they could peel off the Belarus front and Donbas lines as the Russians let the Ukes chase them.

Any hope of getting to the nuclear plant were gone three days in as the column bogged down and the Ukes started expanding their flanks out into the countryside until they reached the Russian forces edge of their pocket. Over the last week the forward movement of the Ukes stopped. The Russians are holding them there, killing them. The Russians aren’t interested in closing the pocket while Z continues to feed the slaughterhouse.

The armor that the Russians especially wanted to draw off has been mauled. The same thing will happen to the troops in the pocket when the Russians get around to collapsing it.

This is the best rope a dope action since the Rumble in the Jungle,

Didn’t you predict they would all die in a couple of weeks?

Apparently his fighter wins by being knocked out 🤔
Welcome to Russian mir

The destruction of the “nuclear proof “ weapons depot was also a strategic win for Russia , destroying dozens of Ukrainian drones with it

The whole thing is a cluster fuck. Nobody knows what’s going on so folks glom onto any sliver of truth and then fill in the gaps with their “knowledge”.

Any day I expect the Russians will announce Zhukov has returned from the dead and is enroute to Ukraine.

This is exactly what I said, “The Russians aren’t interested in closing the pocket while Z continues to feed the slaughterhouse.
The armor that the Russians especially wanted to draw off has been mauled. The same thing will happen to the troops in the pocket when the Russians get around to collapsing it.”

Incredibly! Z is sending more cannon fodder in as we type! As always, it’s all about the PR. Z is going to NYC next week with his, get this, “victory plan”! That idiot Z and the rainbow politicians in the Pentagon will feed in another 10,000 to be slaughtered because Z is going to trade rural BF, Russia for Donbas.

But since you brought it up. Yes, I was completely right! The Russians are on the exact schedule I predicted. I’m predicting right now that Z will stop feeding the slaughterhouse when the PR opportunity in NYC is over. Then the Russians will collapse the pocket.

Kremlin Bolsheviks have been gaslighting on about “cauldrons” and pockets for literally years now in this war. In reality the Russian invasion of Ukraine is just another textbook Stalinist genocide. All those who oppose Moscow are killed or displaced. That which can’t be stolen by Russian bandits is destroyed by them.

Hilariously, Moscow Kremlin apologists never have to admit you are wrong. Maybe that’s what it makes an attractive armchair hobby for some.

Dude please see my tagline and let’s concentrate on Trump, he well end the war.
You hyperventilate too much predicting the war. We can guess but I avoid predicting.
Do I think Russia can take back that territory? Sure.
Do I know if they will, when or how? Of course not.

So, did the Russians repel the Ukrainians and no Ukrainians took hold of any Kursk territory?

If still in Kursk, that’s a very big embarrassment for Putin, and the Kremlin. And, the Ukes can continue to advance deeper into Russia.

So, what was the deterrent?

This isn’t like NATO where that’s three or fours years production. That ammo would have only been used in that theater, to be used in the Baltics.

That being said, your silliness had nothing to do with this thread. Let’s try to keep your eye on the ball.

Why don’t you and Willi get yourselves a chat room? You can stroke each in private that way.

Man, you are brown eyeballed full of it. The worst MSM/Gubmint stoogery yet.

How about you woke, rainbow politician whores of the Pentagon, MIC and WH slinging the BS DC narrative and character assassination but NEVER a counterpoint.

If you can’t find it at the end of your snout in MSM feeding trough, you’ll never have the sense to make a counterpoint.

Just more of your grunts and snorts. Don’t choke!

Now that you mentioned it, YES!

Who’s military will spend $71billion this year and still be able to kick the crap out of NATO that will spend $1.4TRILLION?

Who is losing one KIA to every seven? Who’s slaughtering whom in the Kursk Pocket? Which entire front is collapsing again?

Oh, that’s right! I remember you! “The geniuses all wear skirts in your pervo pentagon fantasies. It’s lbgtxyxsgtpfclt I suppose for military brilliance?

I don’t expect unwitting dullard stooges of the MIC to ever see.

The usuals here only see victory no matter what happens
Consider this the Soviets fought Germany for 4 years , we are approaching 3 years and the Russians have moved how far?

Their Soviet legacy weapons stocks are being depleted, they can’t protect their infrastructure.

I know Ukraine is struggling, but Russia is struggling as well.

I know Ukraine is struggling, but Russia is struggling as well.

And, Russia has a lot more to lose. Their economy is in shambles and their military is now second-rate if not third-rate.

While Ukraine has suffered in all areas too, after the war, they stand a much better chance at recovery/rebuilding, because the entire of Europe and the U.s. and other countries will come to help them out. Russia? Can't see anyone outside the contry stepping up to assist in their recovery.

“just another textbook Stalinist genocide.”

welcome to the party, pal. For a couple years now, I’ve been saying this is just another one of those stupid, bloody European ethnic border wars. It’s not about defending Christianity from neocons or globohomo and it’s not about defending democracy and the rest of Europe from invasion. Killing the other people is the goal. The Ukrainians, if they ever got those lands back, are going to pay back the Russians still there in the same coin.

Reality: Putin can’t take Ukraine in 2 and a half years and lost all the original troops. All Russia has done is try to blow up all the buildings in every city they are close to. Now they are evacuating Russians in Kursk so they can blow up all the buildings in that Oblast.

Russians think they are Godzilla just going after buildings?
