North Carolina Republicans are bracing Thursday morning as word spreads about a damning news story looming regarding Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson.
Sources with direct knowledge have spoken with Carolina Journal on the condition of anonymity and said that Robinson is under pressure from staff and members of the Trump campaign to withdraw from the governor’s race due to the nature of the story, which they say involves activity on adult websites in 2000s.
According to sources, Robinson has resisted withdrawing and privately denies the story.
In an email to Carolina Journal shortly after this story posted, Michael Lonergan, communications director for the Mark Robinson for Governor campaign wrote, “Whomever your sources are here, it is complete fiction.”
Thursday evening is the state deadline to withdraw from the race. The deadline to remove Robinson’s name from the ballot already has passed. There are just four weeks to go until early voting, and absentee ballots are due to go in the mail Friday.
According to the sources, the campaign of Attorney General Josh Stein, Robinson’s opponent in the race for North Carolina’s Executive Mansion, leaked the story to CNN and local Raleigh news outlet, WRAL. It is expected to hit airwaves later on Thursday.
Also according to the anonymous source, earlier this week leaders in the Trump campaign privately told Robinson that he was not welcome at rallies for Trump or vice presidential candidate JD Vance. He was slated to speak at the Vance appearance on Wednesday, but his office announced that Robinson had tested positive for COVID.

If true, why why why do Republicans with this kind of crap in their closets run for anything.....they know full well it’s going to be found and make them and all supporters look like liars and phonies. Only dems can do this kind of stuff, as we expect it from them.
Man, I sure hope this story isn’t true. If it is it’ll be a huge blow for Conservatives/Republicans. He is well-liked by many.
If the story isn’t true I hope he sues everyone involved into oblivion.
It will be the seriousness of the charge. Do we need that office? If his problems are self-inflicted he gets what he deserves. I just don’t think Republicans are comfortable with a black governor otherwise Cameron would have been carried over the finish line in Ky.

In his 2022 memoir, We Are the Majority, Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson wrote that he committed his life to Jesus in the late 1980s.
“I did not, however, experience a drastic conversion like some do,” wrote Robinson, now the Republican nominee for governor. “My behavior did not immediately reform. They say sin is fun for a season, and I was in that season.”
Robinson didn’t specify how long that season lasted or what sins it entailed. But according to Louis Money, who worked in several of Greensboro’s windowless, 24-hour video-pornography stores, Robinson was a frequent customer in the 1990s and early 2000s. Money, 52, told The Assembly that Robinson came in as often as five nights a week to watch porn videos in a private booth.
Five other men who said they were former employees or customers during this period also told The Assembly that Robinson visited two of these stores: Gents Video & News and I-40 Video & News.

Sad to say but you could be right.
As far as i can tell, Cameron made a good run of it. But Beshear was way too popular. Cameron may have been better off running for re-election as AG and then trying again in four years.

Bill Clinton was elected governor AND president with his background that wasn’t looking at porn on a computer screen, but first-person rape and cover-up. And let’s not forget the completely false report that Trump was into hookers peeing on him. This allegation against Robinson could be the same sort of democrat dirtiness.
If Republicans are so stupid and moralistic as to disqualify someone for going to a peep show in the ‘90s, they deserve to lose. This is the kind of ridiculous “church-lady” nonsense that makes me question the mental stability of adult Republicans.
If watching porn is a disqualifying event, then there would be very few people available to run for office.
He already won statewide election. The opposition sucks last election I guess.
