A survey of swing state voters taken during and after Tuesday’s debate between Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump found the Sept. 10 showdown did not move the needle.
A joint Trafalgar-Insider Advantage survey of likely general election voters in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin showed each candidate with 47 percent support prior to the debate. When asked who won the debate, Harris came out ahead, 55.3 percent to Trump’s 42.5 percent, while 2.2 percent thought it was a draw. Respondents were then asked, “Considering tonight’s debate performances, if you had to vote tomorrow, for whom would you vote?” Harris and Trump were again tied at 48 percent, with 3 percent undecided and 1 percent choosing “other.”

Other surveys found voters trust Trump more than Harris on the economy and immigration--issues that have consistently ranked at the top of the list of voter concerns.
Despite her win, debate-watchers still preferred Trump by 20 points on the economy (55-35) and 23 points on immigration (56-33). Those are actually bigger margins than he usually racks up on these issues, so it seems possible Trump’s attacks on the Biden administration’s record on these issues landed with some effect. CNN Undecided Voter: "My life was better when Trump was in office. The economy was better. Inflation was lower. Things were better overall. And now, with Kamala's administration, things haven't been so fantastic. She's saying she can fix the problems that her administration has caused, but I don't know if I can afford to take that risk."

For commies protecting democracy means turning America into a Communist rathole..heck this wasn’t even a debate, it was a 3-1 tag team match..the only reason Harris “won” is that she proved she knows how to piss Trump off and Trump took the bait every single time..that is all that was proven other than that we learned nothing..Harris didnt have to answer a damn thing about ANYTHING
Maybe the questions were leaked to Kamala? If that’s the case, she’s dumber than we thought. That’s pretty bad if she knew the questions ahead of time and gave the wrong answers to the wrong questions...ala the very first question asked and her answer. I’m sure everyone remembers that!
I was shocked how easily Trump rose to Harris’ bate. I was even more shocked that his response even mentioned eating cats and dogs. Trump needs to hit her on 1) her record as VP. 2) the (few) policy prescriptions she has mention (e.g. price gouging), and 3) the lack of policy descriptions.
For an example of the process to use: Trump could pick the price gouging policy apart, step-by-step:
1) Who gets define “price gouging”. Of course, she will want the gov’t to decide...more power for Democrats in your life.
2) Harris targeted the grocery industry as her first industry. Had she bothered to check, the average profit margin in the US for that industry is 1-3%. Seems like a strawman to me.
3) Price controls have never worked without causing shortages. Which would you rather have: all the eggs you want at $2/dozen, or no eggs at $1.50/dozen.
Trump should be able to anticipate and and present cogent, non-emotional, answers to 95% of the questions that might be asked. He needs to prepare and quit shooting from the hit.

It worked too.
The bar for the democrat startegiests was low for Kamala. All she had to do was appear to be of moderately competent intelligence and basically not do either a word-salad or cacling, and she accomplished that.
Now it’s time for the press/media to pickup the ball and run with it
That’s exactly what it sounded like she was doing, sometimes. The moderators asked her a few direct questions that she sidestepped and began reciting detailed answers to something they didn’t ask.
Trump should have said, “illegal immigration is causing cities like New York, Chicago, Baltimore, Boston mayors to complain about depleted resources. That’s a winner. Eating dogs and cats is provocative, but made that the focus of the whole debate which everyone made into a joke.
The so-called “news” media was going to declare the Democrat candidate the winner no matter what. It’s their job.

I think Dem definition of “protecting democracy” means they win, if not then democracy failed, in their way of thinking.
They should have had a republic question. Dems wouldn’t have even known what it is, or that we are.
