Former President George W. Bush has finally released a statement about who he would be supporting in November following the bold declaration from his former Vice President Dick Cheney.

After Cheney made headlines when his daughter, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), revealed that her father would be voting for Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election, a spokesperson for Bush said he will not be publicly endorsing any candidate.

It’s all part of the script.

All the cultural institutions preach the gospel of liberalism. And the role of the GOP politicians is to play the part of the bad dog, slinking away with their tail down.

And GOP voters are supposed to follow their lead. By keeping our mouths shut in mixed company, and fretting over suburban soccer moms, come election time.

From an earlier NBC story-—same subject-—

IN 2024-—
Former President George W. Bush does not plan to endorse a candidate for president, his office told NBC News on Saturday. When asked whether the former president or his wife, Laura, would endorse a candidate or make public how they will vote, Bush’s office said “no.” “President Bush retired from presidential politics years ago,” the office added.

BUT, BUT, BUT HERE IS WHAT BUSH DID EARLIER-—

The fact that Bush is not endorsing his party’s nominee is itself notable. In 2012, Bush said he was backing Republican candidate Mitt Romney against former President Barack Obama. Four years earlier, Bush endorsed the now-late Sen. John McCain for president in 2008.
Both former Bush presidents’ teams said in 2016 that the father and son would avoid commenting on Trump. Instead, the younger Bush worked to support Republican senators. Neither Bush nor his wife voted for either major party presidential nominee in 2016, a spokesperson said that year.

The elder Bush president died in 2018, but the younger said in 2021 that he wrote in former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice for president in 2020.

That’s how I discovered FR. I googled something about Bush and one of those “Day in the Life of the Bushes” threads was among the hits.

I liked the Texas image Bush projected when he came into office, but let’s just say I became greatly disappointed in him later.

“George W. Bush never defended himself. He never defended his party and he never defended his constituents. It’s a common trait among RINOs.”

True but add he never defended the boarder.

To quote a line from We Were Soldiers: “Custer was a pussy. You’re not.” Pretty much sums up the Bushes vs. President Donald Trump.

Nobody is worshipping anyone. We are in the midst of a war and intelligent folks on FR have picked the horse that will best take us to victory. Trump is that horse!

Well, at least he isn’t supporting the Democrats, like Dick “Backstabber” Cheney is, after years of them treating him like Satan. Bush doesn’t want to totally burn his bridges with the people who were his voters, but he still dislikes Trump. I’m not surprised this is his decision.

I’m not so sure an endorsement from W. would actually help Trump anyway, especially with people who haven’t traditionally been Republican, while an endorsement of Harris would outrage Republicans and make Dems feel like they won something, so maybe this is an OK compromise.

Well, at least he isn’t supporting the Democrats, ...

No doubt "W the leftwing RINO" is voting for Commiela and would never vote for Trump.

It would be quite illustrative to know what was in those letters handed out during GHWB's funeral.

By keeping our mouths shut in mixed company [...]

That isn't noticed, or commented upon, enough.

Liberal/leftist strangers - or at best: nodding acquaintances - will embark on tirades against Nazi, child-raping Trumpists, and then wait expectantly for you to provide affirmation.

Here in southern Germany, in the upscale neighborhood where I live, I've encountered lots of higher-ranking U.S. military personnel (living off-base) who have - scarce that we've been introduced to each other - launched into a vile, obscenity-ridden attack on "Trumpists" - as though they knew in advance that I was on their side.

They then grin at one, waiting for one to "chime in."

Remarkable.

NOT endorsing anyone is making a very clear statement.

He certainly makes me regret ever having supported him. But I’m past that right now.…

I supported GWB in 2000 and 2004, but he has become a major disappointment and so irrelevant.

No...it’s the deep seated mega business/government complex. The politicians are the massagers of the money transfers(for a profit) between the two.
All the time spouting off platitudes about equity, freedom, opportunity and kindness which they couldn’t care less about. Just a show.
The conservative masses are just beginning to understand the political Potemkin-like farces being presented to everyone.

It's a reminder why we shouldn't worship politicians. Not even Trump.

It was Trump who exposed all of this wide spread country killing government corruption. Not Bush, nor the politicians you speak of. Get it right.
