The cruelty being that we, the taxpayers, wage-earners have to pay for the perp’s existence/subsistence - housing, food, shelter, medical care - until such time as he expires or is released upon which time we will have to suffer the likelihood of him victimizing society again.

The death penalty is far kinder.

One trial, one appeal, choice of method - Kevorkian IV, firing squad, nitrogen, fentanyl OD, hanging, old sparky, I don’t care and I’d be happy to start the IV or get on the firing line to service lady justice.

Grammatically, that means that Youngstown is honoring a killer being sent to prison, as opposed to "Killer of Youngstown honors student sentenced to prison" which would, instead, mean the killer of an "honors student" being sent to prison.
