Texas AG Paxton targets voter registration in state’s biggest Latino counties
The Hill via Yahoo ^ | September 3, 2024 | Saul Elbein

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton threatened two of the state’s most populous — and Democratic-leaning — urban counties with lawsuits over their plans to register voters by mail.

Paxton wrote letters Monday to Harris and Bexar counties, claiming their mailing of voter registration forms would either “confuse” noncitizens about their eligibility to vote, or “induce” them to fraudulently register.

“Either way, it is illegal, and if you move forward with this proposal, I will use all available legal means to stop you,” Paxton wrote.

The attorney general pointed to his 2020 suit against a similar effort to send out vote-by-mail applications to all registered voters in Harris County — a move he credited the following year for former President Trump’s victory in Texas, which was the GOP’s narrowest in a generation.

Paxton’s letters targeted proposals by both counties to mail voter registration forms to eligible — but unregistered — voters, which he conflated in his letters with noncitizens.

“I urge you to abandon this course of action,” Paxton wrote to the Harris County commissioners. “If you do not, I will see you in court.”

---

How exactly are Harris and Bexar Counties going to ONLY send voter registration forms to eligible voters?

If these two counties have that capability, then these counties can check their existing voter registration rolls to make sure there are ZERO non-citizens on the roll.

ALICE, Texas (AP) — In 1977, Associated Press reporter James W. Mangan’s exclusive interview with a South Texas election judge who detailed certifying false votes for Lyndon B. Johnson nearly three decades earlier made headlines across the country.

With the win by an 87-vote margin in the 1948 Democratic primary runoff, Johnson, then a congressman, easily defeated his Republican opponent to take a seat in the U.S. Senate, and he eventually ascended to the presidency.

Threatening them with lawsuits won’t work because the taxpayers end up paying it. It should be immediate arrests followed by announcements that they waited too long to cooperate, not threats of arrest. And SWAT them for the arrests and any survivors should get really rough treatment. They are scum and deserve to be treated back the way they treat conservatives only 10X worse. This is the only thing that will get their attention.

Here is one of the many typical comments at the Yahoo site:

“”””There is no illegal voting! Jesus Christ, who would risk their immigration status to vote?! It’s propaganda. Show me the evidence of illegals voting here in Texas! Non existent, just lies from republicans scared of losing. Can’t actually believe that maybe people just don’t like their ridiculous policies. Gimme a break”””

I hate to tell you FReepers, but there are now more than 200 comments on this yahoo story and almost all of the comments are like the following:

“””Of course he is. He’s a bigoted neocon masquerading as a Christian. He was fine with trump trying to steal power and is now disenfranchising voters who disagree with the state’s dysfunction. Vote blue because the right is out to get anyone they simply don’t like or disagree with. They have no policy platform that will actually benefit the people so this is how they “govern”. They even shot down their own border bill, the one they negotiated. They have nothing other than to limit democracy.”””

The lefties are making a lot of noise. Because they know that millions of non-citizens have been registered to vote.

Why am I thinking that TIME MAGAZINE’S Person of the Year for 2024 will be the millions of illegal aliens/non-citizens who were able to vote in the November 2024 election?

Now THAT’S the Attorney General Texas voted to elect!

(and the effective AG the Rats and squishy Repubs in the house tried and failed to depose on dodgy charges. Our Senate wasn’t buying it though.)

What projection in that comment. It’s almost like they train their sheep to instinctively attack the other side for everything they themselves are doing as their automatic modus operandi.

At any rate, I do think we could be doing a better job across the Internet at fighting the good fight with facts. I’ve noticed an uptick in lefty comments everywhere since Comrade Kamala was handed the nomination and gave the Dems a bit of hope.
