Hunter Biden’s tax trial is slated to begin this week in a California federal court.
Hunter Biden faces up to 17 years in prison for nine charges — three felonies and six misdemeanors — related to his alleged failure to pay over $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019. Rather than paying his taxes, prosecutors allege he spent his substantial income on an “extravagant lifestyle,” including “drugs, escorts and girlfriends, luxury hotels and rental properties, exotic cars, clothing, and other items of a personal nature.”
Like his gun trial in June, where prosecutors secured a conviction on all three felony counts, this should be a “slam-dunk case” for prosecutors since the evidence of guilt is “overwhelming,” John Malcolm, vice president of the Heritage Foundation’s Institute for Constitutional Government, told the Daily Caller News Foundation
“As was also the case with the gun trial, I expect Hunter’s legal team to present a sympathy defense premised on his addiction struggles in an attempt at jury nullification or, at the very least, persuading one juror not to convict which would result in a mistrial,” he said.

He will never serve a day...
barack chose jill, not joe.
Nothing will happen to hunter.
Where can
I hire a protester like the Dems do to picket Hunters trial with a “Pay Your Fair Share” sign? Not subscribing to that just want to turn the tables
Just a humble view....the stress on Hunter is great. He has to be doing a fair amount of cocaine daily. I think he’ll just have a heart attack one night, and the whole process ends at that point.
Joe Biden will pardon Hunter Biden on January 19 or January 20, 2025
On everything
Joe will be told to pardon him after the November election for all crimes.
The reason Biden endorsed Harris to replace him is to assure that she will pardon him and his family. If internal polling keeps showing her losing the election, then in late September he can step down in order to try to give her a boost. She can then pardon the entire Biden family, including Joe, in return.
Re a sympathy defense
I always thought drug addiction was a choice made knowing the consequences. You’d have to be a hermit not to understand that…or completely stupid. At any rate I suppose if that’s all you have then that’s what you must go with. To me it’s a very weak defense.
On everything
Joe might pardon him the day after the trial ends.
I have no problem believing that he does a kilo of cocaine each day. I’d wager that he’s been doing so for years. But stress? He knows that he’s as safe as a kitten.
You know, some people will do almost anything to gain sympathy....
Death seems like such a grand gesture, until a person really has to act. But self-induced disability is almost as good, and you get to thumb your nose at the world afterwards.
Every time I hear “Fortunate son” on the radio I think of Hunter.
Written about him 10 years before he was born.
Of course. They have no shame.
Or November 12
Oh, sure he does. Two months probation and a $500 fine.
If convicted does the law mandate a prison sentence? Or is
a sentence of something less than prison possible?
And we need to take the blindfold off Lady Justice. That's a joke.
Will he spill the beans on obama? Or does he have kamaltoes promise to pardon him? But what if he reads the paper and realizes, her honeymoon is over and she is slinking into oblivion?
In June 2024, she accompanied her husband to his trial on federal gun charges, where he was found guilty on all 3 counts in Wilmington, Delaware. During a break in the trial on June 4, she confronted Garrett Ziegler, a former aide to President Donald Trump, outside the courtroom. Cohen approached Ziegler, pointed her finger at him and said in a loud voice, “You have no right to be here, you Nazi piece of shit.” Her husband had filed a lawsuit against Ziegler, who has been compiling a searchable database of emails discovered on Hunter Biden’s laptop, in September 2023.[16][17]
