SAO PAULO (AP) — The blocking of social media platform X in Brazil divided users and politicians over the legitimacy of the ban, and many Brazilians on Sunday had difficulty and doubts over navigating other social media in its absence....

“I’ve got the feeling that I have no idea what’s happening in the world right now. Bizarre,” entertainment writer and heavy X user Chico Barney wrote on Threads...“Wait a lot of my fan pages are Brazilian!!! Come back hold up!!,” Cardi B said Friday on X...

Isolating someone from outside information is the first step in brainwashing.

Isolating someone from outside information is the first step in brainwashing.

It'll be too hard to control. Brazil is not Russia or China. It'll backfire.

Great. Now we’re going to have thousands of Brazilians come across the border to log in to our hotspots.

Too bad that so many people are reliant on social media sites.

You're missing the point.

How did human kind ever survive, thrive and progress with out the internet and social media sites?

A world without X wouldn’t be a tragedy, but allowing Brazil’s criminal government to continue certainly is.

"Read the article again."

Why should I read the article again when all it talks about is how lost people feel because they can't specifically access X. If they were more resourceful, they wouldn't have to rely on social media sites for their news and entertainment.

From the beginning of mankind, “authority” has tried to control information flow, and has not been successful.

Recall that in 1520, Pope Leo X decreed that Martin Luther SHALL NOT teach the Ninety-Fives Theses.

How’d that all work out?

So what’s your point? My point is that people today are shallow, and needy.

I'll give you a hint. The year is 2024. Right now we're using FR. Some people are using Meta. Others prefer X.

I added Snowflake as an add-on. it’s for people who are being censored and can’t get on some sites. Thousands of volunteers have added it.
