Mine was metallurgical engineering.
My favorites are copper and iridium.
(Doesn’t work near as well as yours in cocktail party conversations, lol)
“My favorites are copper and iridium.”
I get the iridium. I fell in love with a ring — iridium, platinum, sapphire and diamonds. Not practical, and very expensive. Hated to walk away from it.
My father is a metalurgical engineer. He earned his Phd at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in the early 1950s. He then went to Auburn University in 1962 and a year or two later started the Materials Engineering Department there. He could recognize a material by its odor and also its color when burning.
He is still alive and living on his own.
