238 Bush, McCain, and Romney Alums Endorse Harris In Open Letter
The American Conservative ^ | 238 Bush, McCain, and Romney Alums Endorse Harris In Open Letter | Mason Letteau Stallings

Two hundred thirty-eight former staffers for the former Republican standard-bearers John McCain, Mitt Romney, George W. Bush, and George H.W. Bush have signed an open letter endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris over former President Donald Trump.

The letter makes reference to similar letters from the 2020 campaign, wherein former Romney, McCain, and Bush (43) staffers endorsed the former Vice President Joe Biden over then-President Donald Trump.

The signatories of the open letter vary in their former political roles. The signatories include everyone from former McCain Chiefs of Staff Mark Salter and Chris Koch to miscellaneous former interns.

The open letter attacks the Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, as well as Trump’s domestic policy. “At home, another four years of Donald Trump’s chaotic leadership, this time focused on advancing the dangerous goals of Project 2025, will hurt real, everyday people and weaken our sacred institutions,” the letter claims.

“Abroad, democratic movements will be irreparably jeopardized as Trump and his acolyte JD Vance kowtow to dictators like Vladimir Putin while turning their backs on our allies,” the letter states.

The more the left cries about Project 2025, the more I like it.

If not for Donald Trump interfering in 2016 Jeb Bush would have gracefully lost to Hillary Clinton. Trump deserves our support for saving us from that fate.

After the election of 2020 my eyes were opened. Although never a McCain fan, I finally saw the Bush family and several others like Romney and Pence through a clear lens. Their unmitigated arrogance and contempt for my intelligence remains galling to this day. Moreover, it was the GOPs willful tolerance of these politicians that drove me to become an Independent voter.

“Trump got the Assistant Democrats to self-identify.”

Really. It’s like when you see people wearing masks, you assume they’re whack-o RATs. (Excluding those actually ill, like my friend when going through chemo.)

When you see these names on the open letter, you just know their pockets are lined with ill-gotten gain via the military industrial complex.

These are the useful idiots contingent of the GOPe Olde Guard that can pride themselves as being insignificant to at least two political parties.

Seriously for folks who do not believe in the deep state , do you need more proof than this. There has not been a more naive and less qualified democratic candidate for Pres EVER but here are “republicans” choosing her over a man who actually made things better….dramatically better? Each of these so called republicans were vilified by democrats at one point or another…. Lots of them falling into the “blood for oil” category….. but are now being lauded by the same clowns who crapped on them for decades?

So sad I voted Bush. Turned out to be a BAD idea.

At least I can console myself for having voted for Keyes in the 2000 primaries.

It’s hard (and painful) to realize that we lived with these snakes for so very long. There’s nothing worse than a traitor.

Color me shocked.

They’re just pissed because the peasants have awakened and evicted them from their cushy positions of ownership and authority over the GOP. The only people listening are fellow travelers and gloating libs.

This is of no more import than a fart in the wind.

“The electorate has changed, and it’s not as though all we need to do is to tidy up the voting security.”

You are not paying attention. He went into the lion’s den of a hostile black organization, he been doing podcasts with young streamers who have millions of followers, is kicking butt on Tik Tok and went back on Twitter.

He is reaching out to millions more voters in young voters, black voters, RFK, and Tulsi.

But nothing wrong with it. Just another think tank white paper they produce all the time. Cut government bloat. Eliminate useless departments.

Same stuff for over 49 years.
