I haven't used Telegram in a while but in early 2021, during the post J6 days, I opened an account there because it was one of the few places besides maybe Gab and Parler, where I could get real, uncensored news at that time.
At that time, most of the other platforms like Twitter and Facebook were controlled by the establishment and pro-Trump accounts (as well as Trump himself) were banned and silenced.
It wasn't until Trump started Truth Social and Elon Musk purchased Twitter (turning it into X) that the censorship tide began to abate somewhat.
