Secret Service places at least 5 agents on leave in Trump assassination attempt probe

The U.S. Secret Service has placed at least five agents on leave, including the head of the Pittsburgh field office, as a result of its investigation into last month's assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, according to multiple sources familiar with the matter.

One agent on Trump's detail and three others in the Pittsburgh office were among those placed on leave, according to two federal law enforcement sources. It's unclear if all of these actions are disciplinary, since agents are routinely placed on leave during the course of investigations for various reasons, including mental health relief.

It’s about time! Incompetent SS agents can’t carry out a simple hit when the FBI worked so hard to set it all up.

I don’t know if she’s short but the DEI hire “agent in charge” was one to be put on holiday.

Exactly. Lord knows, they were paid enough to fake all that incompetence.

That only took a month and a half. And I have a dollar that says not one of them will be fired over this.

Any takers?

They’ll just deny their complicity. Bill Clinton taught them well.

It depends on whether Trump is re-elected President and survives the next probable assassination attempts.

If things go well, all of those agents will be fired and some of them will be prosecuted.

The ones that flip will get off free if they identify the higher-level people who directed this assassination project.

It is too early to make any bets. Trump has to make it to inauguration day, fire all of the top people in the Justice Department and the FBI and replace them with people he can trust. And the Secret Service must be made - secure.

Trump will need a lot of help from the rest of us to do all that.

“...Incompetent SS agents...”

No one has said they were incompetent. But sweeping them under the rug until after the election would be a plus to the Democrat run SS by keeping them under raps so as not to embarrass anyone until after the head count by displaying any failures of the section that could be in question. The democrats were in charge and there is probably a number of things that could cause pointing fingers. And at what level?

“But sweeping them under the rug...”

Okay, good try you guys, but now there will be lots of questions. Why don’t you take some paid time off and get your stories on the same page.

Could be hapless scapegoats. The real plotters are still untouched. This goes all the way up.

Not enough! Should be unpaid leave while under investigation.

I’m betting that the assassin who actually fired the shot that nearly killed Trump isn’t an American citizen.

I’m which case this is less about incompetence than a case of willing to look the other way.

“That only took a month and a half. And I have a dollar that says not one of them will be fired over this.”

In the corporate world there were always people who for some reason were never punished for whatever indiscretion they’d committed. They’d get moved to different jobs, or in extreme cases, bought out. That last one was a guy running our facility. He had to be removed because he regularly sent around widely distributed emails instructing people to do things that were highly illegal. Apparently, they couldn’t get him to follow instructions to stop doing that, so he was very generously bought out. (It was hilarious as there was always a queue at the printer as people printed out a copy of his latest email to take home.)

Lower-level, or otherwise unprotected people, who did what they were told were actually fired when doing what they were told turned into a disaster. That’s even though they had nothing to do with the disaster and did exactly what they were told.

This is how corporate politics works. I’m sure it’s the same in government. High level Democrats who fall on their sword to protect the elected boss are usually retired to a no-show university job. If they were important enough, they become a university president with a mansion, a driver and probably a few governments paid lackies.

As one employee noted, “It ain’t what you know it’s who you blow.”

Did they fire the SS female DEI place-holder who violated SS regulations by bringing her infant to Trump’s recent Asheville, North Carolina rally
and then skipped out of her assigned duties to breast feed it?

Why Not?
