"In the briefing he gave, he said was not "ending" his campaign, he was "suspending" it. His name will still be on the ballot in several states and people can still vote for him." Typically, the main reason candidates place a campaign on a suspended status is that under FEC rules it still allows for funds to be raised to pay off debts incurred by the campaign. Other than that it pretty much means they campaign is over.
