When this Floridian took a major tour of the American West early one summer in 1983, all of the National Parks were booked-up, jammed-up, and overcrowded.
What a relief to visit many National Monuments and able to camp lakeside- or riverside in expansive wilderness! Camping alongside the very serious Green River at Dinosaur National Monument was worth the trip all by itself.
If I were to return, I’d like to revisit Utah most of all.
Walk your dog a few hundred feet off a deserted Utah highway and find remote ancient pictographs nobody had ever documented before...!
That land was intentionally locked up.... some of the cleanest coal.... needed to have it lockup help his cronies.....
