TOPLINE Independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is considering ending his run for president and throwing his support behind former President Donald Trump instead, Kennedy’s running mate Nicole Shanahan said during a podcast posted Tuesday, as his campaign navigates fundraising struggles.

According to 64 polls from RealClearPolitics going back to 7/25 that ask both the head-to-head and the full-lineup preferences:

• 31 have Trump losing more votes than Harris
• 19 have Harris losing more votes than Trump
• 12 have both losing the same number of votes
• 2 have neither losing any votes

An analysis of those polls showed the following trends:

• Across all 64 polls
  • Change in Harris vote: Avg -2.48, std. dev. 1.47
  • Change in Trump vote: Avg -2.78, std. dev. 1.54

  Overall, Trump is losing more votes to Harris from Kennedy entering the race, with a wider spread.

• Across the 31 polls where Trump lost more than Harris
  • Change in Trump vote: Avg -3.71, std. dev. 1.42
  • Net Loss from Harris: Avg -1.65, std. dev. 0.86

  When Trump loses more polls to Harris, Trump loses more than Harris loses to him.

• Across the 19 polls where Harris lost more than Trump
  • Change in Harris vote: Avg -3.58, std. dev. 1.04
  • Net Loss from Trump: Avg -1.68, std. dev. 0.73

  When Harris loses more polls to Trump, the net loss to Trump in those specific poll is slightly more than Trump's net loss when he loses to Harris.

Conclusion: Per poll, Trump is losing more votes to Kennedy. Although differences appear slight, Trump loses more to Kennedy 63% more times than Harris loses to Kennedy.

If Kennedy drops out of the race, that would have a big influence on Trump's polling averages.

Or maybe NIH. Ambassador to Ireland or the UN.

I hate to say it but right now it’s about winning the election. If we lose, it’s a long way back for the USA to ever recover.
