The presidential campaign of Dr. Cornel West announced Tuesday that it would contest the disqualification of West and his running mate, Dr. Melina Abdullah, from appearing on the Michigan state ballot in court. The disqualification stemmed from procedural concerns raised in an earlier challenge.
In a press release, the campaign called the challenge baseless, dismissing it as a tactic initiated by the Democratic National Committee and the Michigan Democratic Party to distract voters and suppress opposition to the Biden administration’s policies, particularly regarding the situation in Gaza. The campaign further noted that it has received “overwhelming support” from Michigan voters thus far and is prepared to contest the challenge in court.
Campaign spokesperson Edwin DeJesus said in the release, “The West/Abdullah campaign is actively intervening in this case to vigorously contest these baseless accusations. We are confident that a thorough examination in court will expose these legal maneuvers as unfounded attempts to curb the growing progressive movement. The campaign remains committed to defending its position and continuing the fight for a political revolution that addresses the rights and needs of all people.”
Michigan election officials stated last Friday that West and Abdullah would not appear on the state ballot due to issues with the notarization of their paperwork. Challenges were initially filed by Rosa Holliday, with former DNC member Mark Brewer acting as her attorney, to the affidavits of identity submitted by both candidates earlier this year. According to a letter from the state’s Director of Elections, the forms submitted by the West campaign had several errors, including unfilled blanks, a failure to specify the act being notarized, the omission of the notary’s official title, and the placement of the notary public’s stamp on a separate sheet of paper that was not attached to the notary public’s certificate.

“Corny” is getting even less attention this time than before in 2020. RFK Jr. continues to soak up the ‘Ralph Nader’ type of outlier distraction. Corny is so “Obama-Era” related.

He is the strongest argument out there for closing all “prestige” universities and converting them to homeless shelters.
The Demagogic Party a-holes in charge now were in charge then, and they’ll do whatever they can to deliver enough fake ballots to swing it. The fact that they’ve been under scrutiny for their crimes has only slowed them down.
I support this effort. Any vote not going to the Dem candidate is a good vote.
Cornel used to be my favorite lefty loon for comedic relief until Kamala came along. You can’t listen to them without laughing.
Much to my extreme distress and chagrin I gotta go with the Democrat establishment position on this one.
Allowing ‘little’ technicalities and not legalities is foundational to the Leftist steal.
I do however hope that the West/Abdullah team prevails in this case. (for personal enjoyment)
