Do you realize what time it is? What day it is? It’s the end of August. We have September and October and then the election. We had better be on the same page regarding Trump or we get rewarded with president Kamala. Now is not the time to be critical or for raising doubts. Trump is our man and for all practical purposes Free Republic is Trump Country!! Sometimes God raises up imperfect men to be leaders. Trump has been raised up as our candidate so lets get him elected! (Enthusiastically without the drama).

Thank you very much and GOD BLESS YOU.

I am sure 99% of us, INCLUDING ME, is on board for Trump. These threads, all of them for Trump, Vance, Harris, Walz, and here, for example, the DNC allow us to see what is going on, understand the issues from both sides, comment, discuss, etc.

I'll have to reread this and yesterday's DNC thread, but absolutely no one is suggesting that we should change our vote to Harris or Walz!

And, if I may, our other rally threads that I have posted, for Trump and Vance, it is the exact same. We do note evolving views, discuss stuff, note where things fall flat, we are not an echo chamber. End of day though we still, I suspect, 99% support and will vote for Trump.

There is a tendency to think and non-lockstep cheerleader discussion is bad, it is not. This site has never been an echo chamber. Going back to Obama days, we commented on the Kool-Aid drinkers for The Dear Leader if you recall.

Consider a recent point. Trump has had a generally clear populist, pro-American worker, pro-American student view. Then, about 6 weeks ago he said he would offer visas to graduating foreign students to stay in the US and compete with our kids graduating American schools. Of course there was an uproar across the country and we, me and others, noted and objected to the change. Lo and behold, Trump heard and shortly thereafter reversed himself. I don't think any of us were not going to vote for him or skip voting, but we had opinions, there were discussions on the site, like friends.

Immigration is another point. Deport all illegal aliens? The 15-20 million new under Harris and Biden, Vance now says likely 20-25 million. What about the total 30-60 million? Trump usually says all, greatest deport ever, etc. Vance has been consistently clear that they all need to pack up and leave. Trump has varied. Take the platform as an example, Well, his the platform planks says all, yet the detailed page say "begin". Trump varies, he's wobbly, not an idealogue. Consider today, he said he would deport the violent ones, 1-2 million. How's that all fit? Sure we discuss it, shouldn't we? Maybe Trump listens. I think it is in our favor that Vance is VP because he is more disciplined and focused on the issues and will have Trump's ear. Hopefully more so than Ivanka's. Anyway, our discussion is good, it mirrors the country, and may have positive impact. No one is saying dump Trump, not vote for him, or anything remotely like that!

So what I am saying, suggesting, and urging is that we welcome all conversations in all threads. Heck, even from some non-Trump supporters. Maybe with polite discussion and no insults, name-calling, and bullying we can convince them to join us. Same for the few Freepers that have sometimes expressed views recently that they might not vote for Trump. Fine, let's have those conversation, we've got 77 days to turn them around. Trump needs to build the base, we should do our part to help.

FR is a forum for discussion, aligned with you, but we're not a cult.

Respectfully.

Jim, first it’s an honor to read your posts. At this time, the election of Trump is everything and speaking for myself, I’m not interested in criticizing any of his policies.
For example,I support Ukraine against Russia. As regards Trump, he can announce a policy to sink Ukraine in the ocean and it would not affect my support for Trump one bit. Nor would I post any criticism of his policy.
The only exception is, I did criticize the election strategy and asked that he focus more on policy. But that advice he was getting all over the place.
The election of Trump is everything for the survival of our Republic.
Should you allow discussion of Trump’s policies? I think only the gentlest discussion.
Best to spend our time denouncing the demonic democrats.

You are right, Jim. We have to ignore the GOPe and Leftist trolls that are infecting FR.

They are like white noise, easily ignored.
