My take on 1%'s they are all trash until the HA's went into legitimate business. The ones I feared the most when I still went to biker bars were the Mongols. They just wanted to fight and kill. I would leave when they pulled in. The Vagos are not much better.

When my brother got out of the service in 1971, he bought a Norton 750 Commando. The two of us on that bike would outrun any one person on a Honda 750. Hilarious.

Yep, British bikes were fast in the 60s and 70s. I had a 71 BSA 441 Victor Enduro. It was a torque tractor. You could hit the bottom of a hill idling in high gear and just hit the throttle. No need to downshift. Instant acceleration in top gear all the way up without hesitation.

As I recall, there was a church in KS that protested at military funerals and bikers put an end to that.
I remember that church. Real head cases. They had a message that all KIAs deserved to die because America tolerates homosexuals instead of burning them at the stake, or something. And they would interrupt the funeral to deliver that message.
The thing is that this isnt a new phenomena with HD that just recently has the bikers enraged.
For decades there have been significant quality control issues, design flaws, and a general refusal to update some technologies that the community has asked for. For decades theyve been saying that they would jump to something else if there was anything else for them to move to.
HD went full homo a couple of years back, there was a thread then where I was telling about some older bikers that lived Harley that just one day said “piss on it” and mostly moved to Indian.
Maybe the media can staunch the loss among the kids by pretending that it was just a recent mistake that has been corrected but nothing is going to bring the old timers back. The damage has been done to that brand and is just an ugly scar for the old timers now. No reconciling.
