IIRC, Rep. Clay Higgins said that the Coroner claimed to be unaware that the FBI had released the corpse to the parents.
The coroner will say anything the FBI tells him to say.
And nothing more.

The report I heard said that the FBI had the body (whose?) cremated. So if the parents received remains they were in a coffee can (so to speak).
