Ukraine reports heavy fighting on eastern front after Russia incursion

KYIV (Reuters) -Ukraine said there was no sign Russian military pressure was receding along the eastern front inside its borders on Thursday, more than a week after its incursion into Russia, and reported the heaviest fighting in weeks near Pokrovsk.

Ukraine launched a major assault into Russia's Kursk region on Aug. 6, carving out a strip of land in what military analysts have said is, in part, an attempt to divert Russian reserve forces to act as reinforcements.

Military spokesman Dmytro Lykhoviy said Russia had moved some troops from Ukraine's occupied south to other areas, but that it had not constituted a big redeployment for now.

"No significant changes in the size of the group were detected, and the number of the personnel is not changing enough to indicate any differences or weakening in ... hostilities," Lykhoviy said on national television.

Serhiy Tsehotskiy, an officer with the 59th Motorized Brigade, said there had been no letup in Russian pressure in the partially-occupied Donetsk region where Russia has concentrated its attacks for months.

"The enemy, despite what is happening on the territory of Russia, is still... keeping the bulk of its troops in this direction and trying to achieve success," Tsehotskiy said on national television.

I do not see benefit to Ukraine opening a second front, employing their maneuver advantage.

They don't have enough equipment and manpower to hold the principal line.

The point of the Ukraine war, I believe, is to drain Russia as much as possible in preparation for a NATO attack on Russia in order to break it up. That’s been the globalist agenda.

So the idiots leading us think they can break up Russia by invasion without it going nuclear. That is a game I do. It want to play. Only neocons and people of suicide watch would even contemplate that move.

They think it’s controllable. Russia is not above going nuclear, if it is facing its end.

I agree to the point that Russia depopulation, thanks to communism, has put its existence at risk.

So one idiot made up a fantasy about our plan to attack Russia.
And then the other idiot expresses outrage at who? The first idiots comment.

I swear our enemies couldn’t do a better job at spreading ridiculous demoralizing propaganda.

News flash. The real reason for the Ukraine war is that Russia attacked Ukraine.

No, Russia’s attack wasn’t part of a NATO plan to attack Russia.

And if it were, all Russia would have to do to thwart the plan, would be to not invade Ukraine.

But why apply logic.

The real reason for the war is that Victoria Nuland (CIA) and allies overthrew the government of the Ukraine in 2014 and together they built an army to go after Putin. They intentionally crossed Putin’s red line - NATO membership for the Ukraine.

Now that they haven’t gotten the war they want, the malevolent West is throwing the last Ukrainian soldiers into the fire to get a war started.

While it’s true that Russia did the first attack, NATO countries were provoking it by trying to bring into NATO former Russian satellite countries, when Russia explicitly said that trying to do so would result in war.

To blame Russia, when Russia told us what their response would be if we did what we did, is simply bs.

It’s a liberal tactic to push liberalism until we respond negatively to their agenda and then blame us for reacting to their tactics.

I recall some interesting military exercises imagining how one would invade and occupy the Soviet Union, because in those days it was the Soviet Union.

There was essentially no way. It’s too big and this generates logistics obstacles that are insurmountable. The sheer distance of supply lines in an era where long distance artillery and missiles guarantee that the supply lines could not be maintained. It’s too big. All of the details can be presented, but in the end the conclusion was it’s too big.

There’s no credible invasion scenario. Europe’s many invasion attempts of Russia over the centuries all failed. The French in the early 1800s failed. The Germans with their allies in the late 1930s invaded and failed as well.

This reality combined with their oil and gas endowment makes most of these theories of somehow breaking it apart silly. And those not silly are worse than silly, absurd.

Yep. It's surprising that ANY FReeper would be in lock step with Zelenskyy's cheerleader Joe Biden.

Biden has been WRONG about everything, INCLUDING bankrolling Ukraine.

What is wrong with Williams? He is a leftist neocon who is hoping that American troops get sent to fight Russia and that out young men get drafted to fight and die. He loves Biden’s and the establishments Forever War like a true scumbag.
