Don’t ask me to defend the British monarchy. It’s a British thing. Monarch is a symbol and doing without one is somehow impossible for the British. But they did once toss aside an individual monarch, Edward, because he was pro-Nazi and married to a non C of E commoner. So he was forced to abdicate.

The UK has a Deep State, just like every Western Nation. Nothing significant will be allowed to change. No party has any power, so the entrenched gov’t is in control….just like in the US.
Due to how British elections work when lots of parties are on the ballot, Labour won a majority of seats (411 out of 650) while only getting 33.7% of the popular vote.

The US only had a similar situation once, as far as I know: the election of 1860, when the vote was split among 4 candidates, resulting in Lincoln winning with just 39.8%
The US civil war followed immediately.

I wonder sometimes at the knee-jerk reaction with some on the British monarchy. That is British heritage, which evidently you prefer to see Anglo-Saxon heritage disappear, along with the people. It was not the monarchy that got Britain in the shape it is in. It was elected politicians.
The revolutionaries, in order to roil Europe and make it ripe for revolution, had to get rid of the royal houses.
They’re not citizens, they’re subjects. Subjects to the crown.
