How do you know she was a “DEI hire”?
That limits your choices rather dramatically the days
The nose ring was a symbol for thousands of years that the wearer was a slave, especially in the Greek and Roman era.
I wonder if the people wearing them have a clue as to its meaning.
See post 21.
“A $5 cup of coffee is a luxury for good times.”
That is the key, isn’t it? People cut back on luxury, discretionary spending first when bad times roll around. Has Joe been lying to us how great Bidenomics is?
I do too and the coffee beans are usually Ethiopian or Indonesian, the best in the world! I used to roast my own beans but ventilation became an issue.
I've also read where Charbucks is not so friedndly to our Officer folks.
It’s surprising that no-one has called out Starbucks for their logo, which is highly suggestive.
If the “fish parts” were legs, what would the image imply?
“Buy my own coffee beans and drip brew my own coffee.”
I have a Keurig k-cup which I fill with my own ground coffee beans. 10 bucks for the bag, a lot of cups of coffee.
Yep.
Caffeine pills are several cents each.
With the advantage of no additives or sugar.
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck....
She was chosen by Schultz for the same reasons the Kamel was chosen by Biden - to be the first black woman of an s&p 500 company.
Whether she really is DEI or merely looks like one is a question the Left has made unanswerable.
She went to Princeton (one of the original leaders in DEI) and then started her career at and rose to the top of Ariel Investments of Chicago, an African-American money management firm that sells itself to institutional investors (pension funds, etc) as a minority firm (i.e., DEI compliant).
The publicly waiting in a long physical line to purchase said coffee also apparently signaled great virtue held only by Starbucks coffee drinkers.
Big can of Tim Horton’s and my drip coffee maker. Programmed to start at 5:20 each morning, pot is usually gone by 11:00. If I can’t get TH then I’ll buy anything Colombian. I have responsibilities, work, hobbies, and one addiction… black coffee.
Starbucks never impressed me. I understand their implied differentiator and value proposition to set them apart from competitors, but it didn’t resonate with me as a consumer. At a drive through I simply want a F’g large coffee not a venti, grande, or 10,000 other questions and options. I want someone to pour it in a cup fast, and get me the hell out of there. Anyone wanting to sit in their car for 15 minutes for a mocha-choco-latte-frothy-carmel laced concoction have at it. Just not for me.
I was listening to a show on the car radio & a financial consultant was discussing cutting expenses to have some money to set aside for retirement. She had a client couple - the woman finally told her they had cut everything back to the point they could not cut another penny. Being wise & experienced, the consultant said let’s look at your daily expenses. Very quickly, she found out the wife & husband had a daily Starbucks habit to the tune of ... wait for it ... $400 per month!!
I spend $8- 12 a month for coffee & make my own .... $400/mo., even $100/mo. is unfathomable to me.
When they started opening their doors so the homeless and mentally ill could hangout inside all day , that was the last visit for me.
Not too many people have that vulgar a mind
I am using a vintage Pyrex percolator... all glass stovetop. With locally roasted French roast. Home ground.
Yum
$3 Freaking dollars for a small cup of regular coffee in DC area now. I’m done with Starbucks and five guys burgers! Absolutely ludicrous. Even Popeyes now is absolutely obscene in their pricing. No more. Done.
