Because the attempted assassination of Donald Trump in Butler last month turns out to be one of the worst scandals in American history.

But the upshot of the investigation, as conducted by Congress and in other venues, reveals that the Secret Service has been utterly politicized under the direction of the deposed Kimberly Cheatle and driven to a level of performance that, frankly, doesn’t come off like mere incompetence.

2. On the Other Hand, JD Vance Turns Out to Be a Dude
By “dude,” I don’t mean a “White Dudes For Harris” dude. In usage as a sports term, a dude is a star player. As in, Paul Skenes is a dude on the mound.

4. The D+37 Factor
You’ve seen this column talk again and again about those four most dispositive numbers in American society, but I’ll recite them again: based on exit polling from the 2022 elections, married men are R+20, meaning they vote Republican 20 percentage points more than Democrat, married women are R+14, unmarried men are R+7, and unmarried women are D+37.

Agreed. I watched his interview with Dana Bash on CNN and Jonathan Karl -- I was really impressed with the way he handles the press and his ability to speak cogently and in clear sentences without digressions and babble.
That D+37 thing is way overdone, or we are to believe that the shattering impact of four year of Biden/Harris is not all that bad. The D+37 crowd now knows pain and probably can connect the dots.
I hope you are right, but the anecdotal evidence I see is not encouraging.

My Millennial liberal daughter (I did my best, FRiends, she will come to her senses some day) told me yesterday that the bulk of people she is in contact with on social media were not going to vote for Biden because he was a stupid old man, but they are all panting like a Willie Brown to vote for Kamela, because she's black, female, middle aged and happy, unlike Trump, who is white, male, old, and always saying things are bad. It's dumb as [expletive], but evidence is evidence, whether we like it or not.
When leftists make mistakes, the error goes down the memory hole. To put it more bluntly, behind the curtain they're mad because he missed, and they don't want to talk about it.

unfortunately Joe’s timing (courtesy of Nancy) was brilliant in terms of completely eliminating any bounce that Trump would have received from the assassination and the GOP convention. Instead the headlines are dominated by Kamala, Kamala, Kamala.
That said we are basically back to where we started before the June debate, except that Trump is no longer facing a senile old man but instead a sitting VP who is being treated as a challenger when in fact she is the incumbent.

Not really. We are farther behind. Back in June, Trump was still leading in multiple polls, Biden in almost none. Now, Kamala is leading everywhere.
