A report released Monday by USC’s Understanding America Study (UAS) suggests the use of hyperbolic terms to describe global warming has no effect on people’s perceptions of the urgency of climate change.
The study notes that climate crusaders like the UK’s Guardian newspaper have officially opted for expressions like “climate crisis” and “climate emergency” in an attempt to raise concern and convey urgency, yet it would seem that such efforts are in vain.
“Instead of ‘climate change’ the preferred terms are ‘climate emergency, crisis or breakdown’ and ‘global heating’ is favoured over ‘global warming,’ although the original terms are not banned,” the Guardian stated in 2019 on announcing updates to its official in-house style guide.

According to the “climate change” crowd I died many years ago....

I get “triggered” every time a see a horizon covered with those damn POS commie “windmills”. Talk about screwing up the planet.
the left rely on climate change brainwashing/gaslighting to hook new converts-
Let’s talk about sampling bias. Who would you imagine would sign up to be wired for psychological responses? Middle class working Americans? Professional workers like nurses, doctors, lawyers? It would be interesting to know if the people they tested were employed and where and at what level. My guess is they went over the psychology department in an ivy league university and put up a notice. Now, just what would be the politics and liberal craziness of that sample set? My guess is if they’d ask, who voted for a Republican last year, the answer would be zero people. So here’s yet another article I wasted my time reading.
But I was also concerned about COVID, so I made sure to wear my mask at all times, including under my scuba aparatus.
I almost drowned.
But those are the sacrifices we need to make for Mother Earth.
All that effort for naught.
Let them keep spewing their BS. Seems like nobody cares!
I drove up to Sacramento from Silicon Valley yesterday to visit the California Train Museum with my daughter and boyfriend. On the way back, I drove back roads through the Altamont hills and the damn windmills are everywhere (they started building a few on the Altamont Pass 30 years ago).
Some of the most beautiful ranch land and vistas on the planet — destroyed for 40 miles!
“Triggered” doesn’t begin to describe my anger at windmills blighting our once beautiful country.
All of that beauty lost for a hoax and because weak minds gave into the lunatic zealots. I wonder if we’ll ever get our natural beauty back.
It’s like the boy who cried “wolf.” After decades of failed prophecies of doom, people tune them out.
Wasn’t the Earth supposed to end over 20 years ago? They are trying to influence the entire economy of the world based on what they now say could be, unconstrained by their failed predictions that have been hyped in the past.
04%. That is the fraction of our air that is composed of CO2. All this fuss over such a trivial amount. With Mars and Venus at over 95% why is it so small on Earth? Only Earth has plants and they have become very good at pulling CO2 out of the air. Rest assured they will eventually catch up with whatever amount Mankind creates.
What do you mean? Do you mean, for example, the NOAA forecast of an 85% likelihood of an above-average hurricane season?
https://www.noaa.gov/news-release/noaa-predicts-above-normal-2024-atlantic-hurricane-season
Hasn’t aged well. Admittedly, this forecast doesn’t reference climate change. Maybe they’ve given up on that since neither the “more hurricanes due to climate change” followed by “no greater number but greater intensity” grifts haven’t worked out as forecast. But of course the unstated point remains, if you can’t predict weather 6 months out, how can you predict climate 100 years out
The purpose of the hysteria is not to convince the skeptics. Its to set the stage for criminalizing thought and eventually putting skeptics in jail if they don’t shut up.
I read an article many years back when the climate change dandelions started popping up everywhere. The female author admitted that all the windmills were just advertisements for climate change and to make Americans buy into their scam. I sure wish I had kept that article.
That’s a very good theory. It’s like the way the queers and trannies stay in your face 24x7.
When both of Obama’s mansions are flooded I will then be a little concerned.
OMG, but if anyone REALLY believed that wouldn’t insurance companies refuse to insure those houses? Wouldn’t homes say in Miami Beach go for $1.00?
Yeah I have heard many insane things. Like earth will have the atmosphere of Venus.
My wife was surprised when I told her Bill Nye the Science Guy is actually an actor NOT a scientist.
