President Joe Biden said on “CBS Sunday Morning” that he opted to not to seek reelection because his colleagues in the “House and Senate thought that I was going to hurt them” in the November election.
Biden said, “Look, polls we had showed that it was a neck-and-neck race, would have been down to the wire. but what happened was a number of my democratic colleagues in the House and Senate thought that I was going to hurt them in the races. And I was concerned if I stayed in the race, that would be the topic.”

his dementia was greater than the margin of fraud
One of the smartest decisions in politics in recent times. We all laughed, but they are focused on winning.
Jill’s been suspiciously quiet. Hope she’s plotting some revenge. No doubt she could cause serious problems for several of them.
where he enjoyed his typical media tongue bath.
‘Hurt them’ MORE
Isn’t it amazing though how the least popular VP in decades has suddenly become the darling of America. Wonder how that works.

Something about Romania and Biden bribe
Smart like Hitler’s invasion of Russia was smart?
How is it that we have no one from China to tell us?
I’m pretty sure that this is how one-party rule works. The Party apparatchiks select the leadership. The People cheer. Those who don’t cheer loud enough disappear.
Media says whatever the government wants. Those that aren’t enthusiastic enough also disappear.
Occasionally, tanks run over college students.
Was there any follow up as to why he would hurt other candidates down ballot? We have been told over and over how awesome the economy is doing, how he’s sharp as a tack, how America is back baby!
Or are we just letting him say words so we can check a box and say “Biden explained himself”
Its all about packaging and branding, and contrast.
At least in the short term, it seems smart, as seen in the very polls that people here liked to celebrate in June. Let’s see what happens in November.

That’s like saying it was one of the smartest decisions ever made to not stroll across a busy freeway. This “decision” was forced on the Democrats because of the ineptitude of trying to run a catatonic zombie. Now that zombie has been replaced with a candidate who may be even worse. If the Democrats were focused on winning (rather than cheating) they would have found a moderate, if any still exist in their party, to replace Biden.
I wish she would.
But I think she’s been bought-off so well, that she’ll keep quiet and enjoy the perks and power until after Lunch Bucket Joe’s gone.
Jill’s hanging out in Paris attending the Olympics, I thought.
Just imagine how much he was paid to exit. Couple of billion probably. Plus book deals and library deals.
Notice he says nothing about that medical emergency in Vegas, you know, the stroke.
I’ve been wondering what the payoff was to get Jill to shut up and withdraw from the race.

It looks smart because the Dems have the media in their corner. Had a Republican president been forced out by how own party like this I can assure you the coverage (and therefore perceptions) would have been intensely different.
Unlike the Republican Party the Dems do focus on winning. But they also have a big advantage of having the media working full time for them to cover up their mistakes and effectively campaign for them.
All that said I will credit the Dems with the timing of their move to oust Biden. But again, when you are tightly aligned with the media everything you do, regardless of the timing, will be cast in the most favorable, glowing light possible making everything they do appear to be ‘smart’.
The thing that I wonder about is why they waited so long to boot him out. Had he stepped aside earlier would other more formidable figures (Newsom, Witmer, etc.) have stepped forward?
