Over 76,000 people have been evacuated from Russia's Kursk region, the local emergency ministry said.
Russia evacuates 76,000 people from its border region of Kursk as Ukrainian troops advance into its territory in the largest incursion on Russian soil since the full-scale invasion in February 2022.
Russia's Ministry of Defence released footage on Saturday showing what it claims to be tanks, troops and artillery systems deployed to the country's western region of Kursk in a bid to fight off Ukrainian armed forces that stormed the area early this week.
The Kremlin released other footage claimed to show helicopters, fighter jets and drones striking targets in forested areas.
Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with government officials to discuss the looming situation in Kursk, where a swift and bruising Ukrainian incursion into Russia’s Kursk region on Tuesday exposed the Kremlin's vulnerabilities.
“Good day, dear colleagues, on today’s agenda for the operational meeting with the permanent members of the security council is a very important question regarding specific aspects of the fight against terrorism,” he said at the Moscow meeting.
Shortly after the meeting, the three regions bordering Ukraine — Kursk, Belgorod and Bryansk — declared they would carry out counter-terrorist operations. Russia also declared a federal emergency over the attack.

“What stupid SOB green lighted this stupidity? Last hope or push? More wasted lives for what?”
We’ll, they do have recordings of Americans there, and obviously that operation was FAR TOO COMPLEX for Ukraine could do without NATO directing it.
But as it is, it’s stalled. I suspect that the NATO bunch will slowly pull back, being sure to destroying everything behind them - after all, that’s what Neocons do!
What?? Ukraine attacking back??
That’s not fair!!!!
In before the Zeepers!
,
Kursk offensive has slowed.
your propaganda is NOT appreciated.
The Rus recaptured some territory in kursk yesterday and are still taking a few square miles daily in the advance towards “Pork Roast”...here’s a daily summary from neutral source DPA

Makes sense to evacuate civilians, if any of your contingency plans include tactical nukes. I imagine NATO had similar plans on the shelf, back when they were worried about conventional Warsaw Pact forces pushing through the Fulda Gap.
I think it’s interesting to ask where all of those thousands of Russian troops everyone assumed was protecting Kursk are? Could they and many, many more be in Belarus about to sweep the Dnieper to Odessa? Many of the Uke troops used for Kursk were stripped from the Belarus border. Kiev did the same thing when the Russians began attacking toward Kharkiv this spring. The Russian people have had enough of pussy footing with the Ukes. Pressure will be even more intense on Putin to end this now.
I was wondering that too. Evacuating the population first sounds a little ominous. Hopefully, it doesn’t go there and result in more slaughter with more powerful weapons being used.
Russia will soon be dropping small-scale n-bomds in Kursk, to prevent it from being taken over by the aggressive and invasive Ukrainians. How dare they, those pUkes!!!

LOL
How will the Ukes maintain their lines of supply?
Russia occupies 161,000 square kilometers of Ukraine. Russia is gaining land daily along a 600 mile front.
Ukraine has invaded 500 square kilometers of Russia. Ukraine found a thinly guarded area and took advantage. But Ukraine doesn’t have the number of soldiers needed to occupy and hold land indefinitely without losing land faster in other areas so this “show” is a losing proposition.
Putin could end this now by just taking his troops and going home.
It is sadly a propaganda show. Without a Washington push, this never would have happened. More lost lives for no reason, very sad and sick.
Russia seems to be pretty intent on taking out mercenaries. Stupid people.
What Belgorod doink?
What Bryansk doink?
