It probably depends on where the race sits. If Harris is fading at that point, he’ll sentence Trump to jail immediately. If Harris has any sort of lead, they won’t want to disrupt that, so Trump will be given probation, or some such thing.
I just hope Trump has recorded some kind of statement directing us all to vote for Vance in the event he is killed in prison, which certainly could happen.

Already polls show her honeymoon is fading, and convention bounces don’t last more than a week. If Trump is ahead, the pressure to imprison him will be overwhelming. If Harris is leading, the pressure will be less, but still can’t rule out anything.
