Elon Musk’s X just sued a nonprofit advertising group out of existence (liberal tears incoming)

A major ad industry group is shutting down, days after Elon Musk-owned X filed a lawsuit that claimed the group illegally conspired to boycott advertising on his platform.

“GARM is a small, not-for-profit initiative, and recent allegations that unfortunately misconstrue its purpose and activities have caused a distraction and significantly drained its resources and finances,” the group said in a statement Friday. “GARM therefore is making the difficult decision to discontinue its activities.”

The group, Global Alliance for Responsible Media, also known as GARM, is a voluntary ad-industry initiative run by the World Federation of Advertisers that aims to help brands avoid having their advertisements appear alongside illegal or harmful content. GARM confirmed it is still planning to defend itself in court.

Yeah. GARM is another type of Journolist or ACORN. They're trying to dodge. They've 'disbanded', most likely ti reconstitute under another rubric.

GARM (or at least the players behind it) delenda est.

I guess this goes beyond the level of gentlemanly conduct in business, but if I felt they were deliberately targeting and harming my business for personal or even political reasons, I’d take a close look at whether some of the principle actors in that former organization can still be made civilly liable for the damage. They probably have corporate or formation liability to a degree, but deliberately ‘disbanding’ an organization specifically to avoid a lawsuit sounds like something that should be pursued legally to me. This isn’t a coincidence.
If these actors were the prime movers behind the purpose of the organization to target businesses, then they will surely find a way to do something like it again. If they were just puppets, then it should be found out who they were doing the bidding for.

"Harmful content" was apparently defined by GARM as any material that did not align with left-wing values. CNN can't be expected to report honestly about this.

NGOs are the evil spawn of the Left.

They operate under the radar and are often mistaken for real government agencies.

They’re only purpose it to throw mud and monkey wrenches...................

The US and EU governments secretly provided political and financial support on the basis that the group would combat “misinformation” by depriving its regular sources of advertising revenue. The case should still be pursued for damages for past conduct and to get discovery on who the individual nogoodniks were.

I wonder how much the executives at this ‘non profit’ were getting paid?

Someone has to pay the NGOs.

IF we didn’t have a government and deepstate that wasn’t sympathetic to the purpose of most of these NGOs, they’d be looking very closely at their revenue sources. Even if they are non-profits, if their donations are laundered from illicit and/or foreign sources, the pattern should start to become apparent with an audit. Charitable organizations that are actually meant to help people would likely have very different donation profile from organizations formed to influence or attack people, politicians and other organizations for (geo?)political motives.

Did GARM send out layoff notices? Doubt it, so you’re right.

This organization used extortion and would have been RICO’ed if we had any honest prosecutors left. The deck stacking has to be reversed or the country is no more.

that aims to help brands avoid having their advertisements appear alongside illegal or harmful content.

Like truthful content about how Biden and Harris are destroying America, or anything remotely positive about Trump.

GARM is not some little ole non profit entity. It is backed by the WEF and those who subscribed to it and were its members are very large companies.

Rumble which was also targeted by this group has joined Musk in suing them for damages.

Lawfare works both ways..

My impression is that most conservatives prefer to be mindful of their own business and to be left alone; liberals seem only interested in interfering in everyday life and control.

Elon has time and money to create payback. Encouraging.
