About 13,500 hotel workers across Boston, Honolulu, Providence and San Francisco will vote on whether to strike this week as they push for significant wage increases and protections against job cuts.
Employees at leading chains including Hilton, Hyatt, Marriott and Omni will decide in the coming days whether to approve the walkouts...
If workers vote to authorize a strike in the first four cities, one can be called at any time once their contract expires, with some already having expired, and others set to expire by the end of August....
Theresa Fiorino, a room service cashier at the Hilton Boston Logan Airport for 29 years, said workers at her hotel were asking for a $10 wage increase over four years ..

I did a little research on this to ballpark housekeeper wages: - Hawaii pays $23.57 to $23.78 an hour for housekeepers; $4 more for first-line supervisors. William Brown, who works at Omni Boston claims to make $28/hr. And according to Zip Recruiter, starting wages in San Francisco for housekeepers range between $11-$25/hr, the average being $16/hr with the large chains offering $20+/hr.
That's gonna really, really, really mess up the Dem convention in Chicongo.
Schadenfreude to the max!
YES! Follow the Kalifornia Governor and mandate an even higher minimum wage. Fast food minimum wage of $20/hr was instituted in Kalifornia. An estimated 10,000 Kalifornia workers have been introduced to the real minimum wage - $0.00/hr. Fast food establishments have been forced to raise prices, lay off, cut hours, and more than a few have shut their doors.
As Rush says, why not make the minimum wage $50/hr. Those evil companies are just hoarding cash.
I stayed at a Quinta Inn last year and the brochure in the room listed around 10 other hotel chains like Quinta owned by a parent company...
Too bad they aren’t striking in Chicago
Not planning on going to these Leftist hell-holes anytime soon, so F it!
Is that like the pool guy complaining that the pool is dirty?
The Illegals can clean their own rooms ,never happen LOL
More economic illiterates demanding the government “do something” - without understanding the consequences.
Look no further than California when Gov. Newsom mandated $20/hour minimum wage for fast food workers.
Hoover Institute:
“California Loses Nearly 10,000 Fast-Food Jobs After $20 Minimum Wage Signed Last Fall”
People are already struggling financially and travel is one of the first things to be cut back.
Not one parent company
