Michigan AG sends cease and desist letter to resident over posting 'election misinformation' online

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel's office sent a cease and desist letter to a resident over allegedly posting "election misinformation" online.

Robbin N. Liddell, chief of Nessel's Criminal Trials Division, sent the letter to a Ross Township resident on July 24, informing the recipient that they were "in violation of Michigan election law," The Midwesterner reported Tuesday.

Liddell wrote that the individual had "spread misleading or false election information regarding polling locations in Ross Township through on-line sites" and violated a state law that "prohibits and criminalizes this conduct."

The resident who received the letter told The Midwesterner that the online information cited in the letter was a group of social media posts claiming the township didn't inform residents within the 60-day window that voting locations had been changed.

I believe the Michigan AG is referring to the law somewhere that states: "Thou shalt not criticize the almighty government".

Threatening criminal prosecution in a civil matter where no criminal act has been committed is the textboo0k definition of EXTORTION and it is a FELONY EVERYWHERE.

I’m in Michigan and what happened is our Republicans in legislature screwed us by allowing medical mj to be on ballot, along with no reason absentee ballot and then abortion issue on ballot in the same year, resulting in millions coming out to vote that wouldn’t have before back in 2020.

Republicans could have passed bills vs. putting on ballot in which they knew if on ballot it could cost them Michigan. And it did.

Then of course in 2022 we had the after hours haul of vanloads of ballots coming in the middle of night after they sent all republicans home at mid-night saying they would continue count in the am.

That was when major flip coming in at 3am from Trump ahead by hundreds of thousands of votes to losing Michigan. I was up at that time watching election and saw the flip happen.
