Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential campaign is reportedly concerned about “&^^%^%^” Pennsylvanians voicing displeasure over the selection of Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) instead of Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) as her running mate.
Shortly after it was revealed Walz would be the pick over Shapiro and other finalists, Philadelphia Inquirer national political reporter Julia Terruso spoke with a Harris campaign staffer who expressed worry about Pennsylvanians voicing anger over the pick at Tuesday night’s Harris-Walz rally in Philadelphia. The staffer reportedly wondered if “some asshole” would boo at the rally, which Shapiro said he would attend.

What’s interesting that is the rationale for VPs Humphrey and Mondale was to use a Minnesota liberal to balance the respective rednecks at the top of the ticket. Here they’re “balancing” a California leftist with a Minnesota leftist. It boggles the mind.

Shapiro would be the better pick if you were running a capaign to try to win the WH... The DEMS ARE NOT DOING THIS... they know the WH is lost, and frankly I don’t for one second believe Shapiro is dumb enough to hitch his wagon to the fustercluck that is this administration.
Any person who thinks they have a legit shot at the white house is not going to waste their shot by getting covered in this failed administrations exrement and a big old L wrapped around their neck.
Harris was alwasy going to be stuck with a back bencher, never a shot at the WH type of running mate. Why do you think Whitmer and Newsome flat out told her to pound salt? I suspect highty Shapiro while being polite to her inquiries had ZERO intention of accepting and may have flat out told her no as well.
This campaign for the Dems is about saving hte down ballot, the WH is lost and they know it... Biden was not an issue until the mask dropped, and then when it became clear in their polling that if the down ballot folks went out and continued the lie that Biden’s capable after the debate, they would get crushed, that’s when and why he had to go.
From that point forward, every action is about trying to motivate and excite their base, not win the WH... because they know that’s not a possibility... but they need their base motivated, engaged and showing up to prevent a 1974 type route that was heading their way with Biden at the top of the ticket.
From this context, Waltz is the better choice, he won’t play to the middle at all, but he will help to motivate and energize their radical base, which is what they need... the middle is lost, they know it, but if their base doesn’t show up they are looking at huge down ballot losses.
This is not a campaign to win the middle, this is a campaign to save their down ballot from obliteration.

Harris' campaign would be extremely lucky if the worst thing that happened was that some Philly a****** booed, and that would be even if she (Valerie Jarrett) had picked Shapiro.
(That the announcement is still in Philly suggests that this is a decision that was reversed by Harris's puppeteers at the last minute. Otherwise, it would have been made at the George Floyd National Monument in Minneapolis.)
