Suppose also that an Elector for Kamala Harris is given a signed Certificate of Ascertainment, and you are not.

Every fourth December, there are at least 538 would-be Electors who are in this situation.

What must one do to turn being an Elector candidate not appointed to committing the crime of being a “fake Elector”?

Doesn’t the State Legislature appoint the winning slate to vote in the real Presidential election - the one in December?

What turns a non-appointed Elector candidate into a “fake “Elector”? I mean, if Ross Perot had appointed me as a 1992 Perot Elector, once NH appointed the Clinton Electors, would that turn me into a “fake Elector”?

How about if I marched around with a sign saying the Legislature meant to appoint me, would that turn me into a “fake Elector”?

In Arizona law, you’re only a real elector if you’ve been elected in the primary AND have an Elector Certificate signed by the Governor. Anything else that is submitted to the Electoral College is considered a forgery.

Real Electoral votes have certificates of ascertainment attached to them.

If I send Anthony Blinken a 3x5 card in December that says “Jim Noble is a duly appointed NH Elector and his vote is on the flip side of this card” have I committed a crime? Or just acted like a nut?
