After Senator Kamala Harris admitted she smoked pot and supported marijuana legalization because "half my family's from Jamaica" during an interview last week, her father has publicly criticized her for fraudulently stereotyping Jamaicans as "pot-smoking joy seekers" and accused the 2020 presidential candidate of pursuing "identity politics."
Donald Harris, a retired Stanford professor, rebuked Harris's comments linking her Jamaican heritage to her pot use during an interview with The Breakfast Club radio show last week.
"My dear departed grandmothers...as well as my deceased parents, must be turning in their grave right now to see their family's name, reputation and proud Jamaican identity being connected, in any way, jokingly or not, with the fraudulent stereotype of a pot-smoking joy seeker and in the pursuit of identity politics," he said in a statement to Jamaica Global Online last week.
"Speaking for myself and my immediate Jamaican family, we wish to categorically dissociate ourselves from this travesty," Donald Harris added.
Kamala Harris stopped by the Breakfast Club, a nationally syndicated morning show, last Monday to talk about her 2020 presidential run, criminal justice reform and legalizing pot in America. During the 44-minute-long interview, the Democratic candidate was asked about rumors that she opposes the legalization of pot in America.

"That's not true," Harris said. "And look, I joke about it— half joking—half my family is from Jamaica. Are you kidding me?"
Later, host Charlamagne Tha God questioned her on whether she had smoked the drug. "I have. And I inhaled. I did inhale. It was a joint," Harris said, adding that she used pot during college.
"So if it was legalized all throughout the country, and medicinal, would you again?" Charlamagne pressed.
Listen," Harris responded, "I think that it gives a lot of people joy, and we need more joy."
She continued: "Not all drugs are the same. We have incarcerated so many, particularly young men—and young men of color—in a way that we have not, for the same level of use, other young men. And we've got to deal with that."
Harris has emerged as a top candidate in recent weeks among a crowded and diverse field of Democrats. Her mother, who died in 2009 from cancer at age 70, was Tamil Indian, and her father is Jamaican.
She deflected and justified - is she still toking up or not?

Who believes she smoked it only once?
Not to stereotype a Jamaican (sorry, Donald Harris.)
Back to California....
Donald Harris, a retired Stanford professor, figures, the demon seed comes from a professor
Mr. Harris is a radical Marxist.
When daddy’s daughter is a whore, why would he be more upset anymore?
Her daddy ought to tell the assembled members of the press that in order for Kamala to really be black, then she shouldn’t know who her is her daddy... thus I am telling you there ain’t no way she is my daughter;)
Old story but Trump’s people ought to find this guy and get some fresh commentary from him on Kamala.
No! The left is running with Trump's nephew alleging that he said the N word decades ago. Heel's comments are on record and aren't hearsay. Turn about is fair play.
A lot of dims are mindless followers and just generally a mess.
So,thats what the expect from their “president”
Otherwise, kammy is from traditional but probably lax upper middle upbringing.
IOW a spoiled privilege brat.

“it’s an old OLD story from about 5 years ago.”
The written article is 5 years old. The STORY is 100% relevant to the here and now. One more confirmation of her double-mindedness (hypocrisy).
She smoked pot.
She prosecuted people because they smoked pot.
She rationalized smoking pot because “it’s in her genes”, basically, being from Jamaica.
She implied that he family three were potheads when, apparently, they were not. Threw her family under the bus.
I think this person has no redeeming social value.
P
An “old story” that is quite relevant to the current discussion, though.
“I have. And I inhaled. I did inhale. It was a joint,” Harris said, adding that she used pot during college.
She acts like nobody noticed it and it’s safe for long term use.
Glad to see it as I’ve been wondering what daddy thinks of his little heels up princess.
He has always been very proud of his Jamaican heritage, wealth and social standing so didn’t hide the 1120 slaves they had working the family sugar plantation. He is the spitting image of his Irish great grandfather who married (not an owner’s fling) his great grandma, a black woman. Wish he would expand on his grandmas, whom he always references. Were they African slaves (interesting social status) or important Jamaican natives? Just curious from the genealogy angle.
It is no wonder K has tried to hide this and presented herself as Indian. Her mama came to the US and immediately tried to change the country by becoming a community activist. There must be more to the story of her being kicked out over an expired student visa as those are easily renewed. She stayed out of the US until at least K went to college. Yeah, something is off or she’d have come back much sooner.
Also, it would be interesting to know what dad would say about mama and how he feels about K marrying a Jewish man since she’s so anti-Israel. Whew, and then there’s Emhoff’s daughter. It is all a scandal filled soap opera.
That explains the constant giggles and dilated eyes.
I am a user of cannabis products for light triggered migraines and arthritis. I have found nothing better for either. Especially migraines. One puff from the vape pen when the “flashes” start , and it stops it in minutes. I also have a dog in the fight as I manufactured extraction equipment back in the day before the Chinese cornered the market. I have seen amazing results for the use of CBD (does not get you high) treating spastic and epileptic diseases.
That being said.... Jamaica is a violent s hole. And most marijuana use is to get high.
What father wants to know that his little girl sucked and Fd her way to power? Even a Stanford liberal?
