According to a US congressional report, the United States lacks sufficient forces to simultaneously confront Russia and China.
The American website Breaking Defense reported that, according to the U.S. Congressional report, the United States needs to expand its military industry and acquire more aircraft, ships, and submarines.
The website states that the Pentagon's current national defense strategy is outdated, the U.S. military is inadequately structured, and the American industrial base is insufficient to address the dual threat of Russia and China, according to a new, powerful formal review.
The U.S. public are largely unaware of the dangers the United States faces or the costs (financial and otherwise) required to adequately prepare" for a global conflict, reads an early page from the final report of the Commission on the National Defense Strategy, published today. "A bipartisan 'call to arms' is urgently needed so that the United States can make the major changes and significant investments now rather than wait for the next Pearl Harbor or 9/11. The support and resolve of the American public are indispensable."
According to Breaking Defense, the commission was established by the National Defense Authorization Act of 2022 to review that year's national defense strategy. Beyond presenting a troubling picture of America's national security, the 114-page report offers several recommendations for policymakers in the White House, strategists at the Pentagon, and legislators—primarily advocating for an aggressive approach. The boldest suggestion is a call for the creation of a "multi-domain force" to address the current "outdated" version.
he Commission believes the United States needs a force-planning approach that is both global and prioritized. … An exclusive focus on a single adversary or single region, as some have suggested, is a fundamentally flawed response to the global nature of challenges posed by such adversaries as China and Russia and to the growing cooperation between adversaries across regions," the report stated. "That said, the United States' force-planning approach must be prioritized to effectively and efficiently allocate finite resources, address threats of varying scope and scale, and ensure a mix of U.S. instruments of national power that are tailored to specific strategic objectives."
Breaking Defense notes that the report describes changes needed in the U.S. defense system, including acquiring more ships and shipbuilding infrastructure for the Navy and more satellites for the Space Force. It also supports the Air Force's effort to acquire a next-generation air superiority aircraft, a project currently facing an uncertain future.
Regarding the Indo-Pacific theater, the commission calls for more underwater assets - "eparticularly Virginia-class submarines but also large, uncrewed underwater vessels" - as well as more long-range bombers and long-range munitions.
In Europe, the report says that the National Defense Strategy has underestimated the Russian threat. "Ultimately," it states, "the goal is for Europe to take on a larger role in providing for its defense, with assured and critical support of the United States.
In light of the potential for simultaneous conflicts, capability targets apportioned to European allies through the NATO Defense Planning Process should be intentionally selected to reduce overreliance on the United States for key capabilities enablers."
The positive? The war on Russia has exposed our extreme weakness, but also the strength of Russia, and China.
Do realize inflation always increases ( history shows 40-50 percent) during war time. Throw into that war mix supply side shortages, rationing, and taxes.
But they are well schooled on using preferred pronouns.
And yet somehow, DC's permanent neocon/globohomo/deep-state has led us directly into this exact scenario
weird.
And our response will be more bureaucratic hire in DC.
Sorry folks, all our resources went to genocide the Ukrainian people.... but the big guy got his 10%, ok?
And more money for defense contractors, who will continue to perform poorly, resulting in delays and cost overruns. Every government contract should be firm fixed price and the contractor should be liable for any increased costs.
Maybe Mark Kelly can use his connections with the CCP to get them to back off. Or that faggot traitor globohomo general who told the CCP he would let them know if Trump tries anything.
Is anyone surprised?
Maybe if they quit giving away all of our assets, they would be ready!
The democrats want the money not the military
Our strategy after the end of the cold wa r was to encourage the defense industry to consolidate into its present brontosauri Rex goliaths to maintain expertise. Well they are experts in getting fat eating swamp growth. They don’t go fast or move outside the box or do anything new well. ULA vs SPACEX who is hated by the bureaucracy.
DUH!
Elect Democrats and this is what you get, weakness.
It is, of course, total nonsense. Much of the Russian Black Sea fleet is sitting at the bottom of that sea. Sunk by nation with no navy over the past two years. And the US isn’t able to do that? Garbage. Only the weak, ignorant and/or stupid believe such nonsense.
The phrasing is weird.
“The US does not have sufficient resources to confront both China and Russia.”
What the hell does that mean? Does it mean the US cannot deploy enough troops to invade Russia and steal its oil while simultaneously deploying troops to invade China and enslave its manufacturing population to make television sets for the US consumer for free?
Or does it mean the US cannot deploy enough troops to fight other people’s wars nowhere near the US borders?
What does “confront” mean? Does it mean insufficient troops to defend the US mainland from some imagined invasion by tanks of the Chinese and Russians? Does it mean insufficient troops to impose US policy onto the policy of the sovereign nations of China and Russia (which would mean invade those countries).
It probably should mean “insufficient resources to prevent China from destroying the Taiwanese oil import facilities on the coast while simultaneously having enough icebreakers to prevent Russia from drilling in their own Arctic waters of the Kara Sea to get more of their own oil.”
There probably are enough resources to mind our own business.
the fag and DEI military isn’t prepared? shocking.
But we have “diversity”.
Not to mention getting rid of Ft Bragg, Ft Benning, and Ft Hood.
Their priorities are all screwed up.
Come on man, they picked the wrong adversaries. We can take care of Monoco without any problems, probably.
The first thing this nation needs to do is to start rewarding moral courage and punishing moral cowardice.
The second thing it needs to do is quit focusing on attaining wealth through criminal and immoral means.
The third thing it needs to do is focus on competence instead of feelings.
Senile Joe is a puppet. So is Obama. No intelligent person expected the woke military to be adequate for national defense. Its weakness serves the objective of the cabal which operates the puppet strings, viz. the destruction of the USA.
