"Fossil fuels? No." The technically correct word to describe both oil and gas would be "organic".
As the beginning of its textbook will tell you, "Organic" Chemistry is the chemistry of carbon.

Yes, “fossil fuels” is a misnomer at best. It makes it seem as though there is a finite amount of it when truth be told it’s the most “sustainable” and self replenishing.
