A boxer deemed a 'biological male' today won against an Italian woman in one of the most controversial Olympic bouts ever.
The fight between Italy's Angela Carini and her Algerian opponent Imane Khelif took just 46 seconds, with the Italian throwing her helmet onto the floor as the clash was abandoned, yelling: 'This is unjust.'
The 25-year-old refused the handshake and fell to the canvas sobbing having received just two punches from Khelif - who had been banned from a major boxing contest before the Olympics.
Khelif was thrown out of last year's world championships after failing testosterone tests carried out to establish gender qualification.
After the match was stopped, the referee raised Khelif's hand in the air. But a visibly furious Carini yanked her own hand away from the fight official and walked off.
Ignoring the Algerian, the Italian fighter then plunged to her knees and burst into tears as she said she had never felt such strong blows in a contest before.
Speaking after the match, the heartbroken Italian said: 'I'm used to suffering. I've never taken a punch like that, it's impossible to continue. I'm nobody to say it's illegal.
'I got into the ring to fight. But I didn't feel like it anymore after the first minute. I started to feel a strong pain in my nose. I didn't give up, but a punch hurt too much and so I said enough. I'm leaving with my head held high.'

I feel no sympathy for these women that go up against men in what ever arena they choose. Whichever side the women are on, if they’re participating in that corrupted sport then they’re supporting the man. Both, the opposing team AND the mans teammates should refuse to play.

You know, I keep hearing crap like this, but you didn’t train and put in hours of your life to achieve something. Only for it to be snatched away at the last minute by some BS ruling that you had no control over.
These 2 men were banned from competing last year. There was no reason to think this would suddenly change. You say they should just quit and walk away, but would you really?
This was your dream and to have it literally ripped away by this BS is heartbreaking. The ONE sport who should have ensured that no men are allowed is the about the only one to let them compete.
Maybe after watching this farce of watching men beating women as a sport will finally put an end to this insanity.
It looks like Carini took a few blows to the head or face. She tried to adjust her headgear after first blow hit her in the face,.took a time out to do that, went back out got hit in the face again.Was holding her nose, she probably had a nosebleed and could taste blood. Then she quit...
Sad, but demonstrates in full view that bio. men(even if identifies as female) will beat the bio women. P.s. he is a lousy boxer and wouldn’t last 10 seconds with a warrior like Gvonkin, or Pacquiao, Canela.
Hopefully, this match, based on delusion, will disabuse many young women from thinking they are capable to defeat men physically(unlike all the b.s TV shows and movies)..I wonder if the Algerian pretends to be a female only to put females in their place, by beating the snot out of them..

Boxing is a sport of power, and strength and quickness and dogged ability to absorb blows.
If there was a birthing contest and flexibility, man would lose totally big time.
Biol. Men don’t belong in birthing contests , and biol. women don’t belong in high end boxing contests against biol. men. It’s ok to see and believe in distinctions between xx and xy peeps. Not always a contest or put down opportunity.
All the female athletes in every category should announce that the games have stopped until sanity is restored.

I blame the start of this on those video games in the 90’s such as depicted in the 2003 movie Bad Santa during the shoplifting scene. They depict girls fighting martial arts style and winning over men. This totally blurred reality.
