Before that not taxed, but had to be declared.

Trump has had some pretty good positions that cut to different groups, no taxes on tips, now this.
From a tactical stand point, “win”, good politics. But chickens are gonna come to roost eventually for the nation’s spending.
Well… alright!
As Milton Friedman said, any tax cut is a good thing. I remember sleazeball Clinton after his ass-kicking in the midterms saying ‘I guess I raised taxes on SS too much’. Of course sleaze ball knew he would leave office a multi multi millionaire and it wouldn’t effect him.
No taxes on tips or SS - sounds like a winning message
If he adds no taxes on military up to E-5, might see more people in the military

“hard earned benefits.” Donald, SS is not a “benefit.” It is effectively a government mandated confiscation of personal wealth parked in a government institution so that it can be raided for welfare programs.
I like this better than student loan forgiveness.
This money is already paid for so why tax it again.
Trump needs to explain who is going to be taxed to recover the lost revenue, or what programs are going to be cut. Otherwise, it’s just another Republican attempt at vote buying (like the tax on tips), a game that the Democrats are much better at.
Excellent. No tax on tips. No tax on social security.
Soon, no tax on income.
Repeal the 16th.
Honarably discharged veterens should never pay more than 3% of their gross income annually in federal income tax.
Stop it, Donald, I’m going to love you TOO much!
Good.
Knowing it’s a local and State matter, but eliminating property, sales, and other taxes and fees for the over 65 and/or veterans should be on the table.
bttt
He should come up with proposals to deduct rent in whole or in part above the line as well as employee business expenses above the line.
Looks like he is trying to eliminate the unlawful tax on wages that everyone assumes is income and is not a direct apportioned tax.
My SS earnings are well above average, and I have a company pension. Even so, I pay nothing in federal taxes and only 4% in state tax. This position from Trump would have little real effect on most. Union people with substantial pensions, on the other hand,....
