Former President Donald Trump announced his intention to eliminate taxes on Social Security checks if he regains the White House.
This announcement comes as part of a larger strategy outlined by the Republican National Committee (RNC) in their 2024 GOP Platform released earlier this month, titled “Make America Great Again!”
This comprehensive platform is inspired by the enduring vision of former President Donald Trump.
“The Republican National Committee (RNC) Platform Committee adopted President Donald J. Trump’s 2024 Republican Party Platform with overwhelming support– a pro-American agenda that stands in stark contrast to the record of weakness, failure, and dishonesty created by Joe Biden,” the Trump campaign said.
“President Trump’s platform serves as a contract with the American voter that makes clear what we can and will deliver under a President Trump administration with the Republican Party leading the country for the next four years.”
The platform emphasizes a commitment to protecting Social Security and Medicare, promising no cuts or changes to the retirement age—a sentiment that resonates deeply with millions of Americans who rely on these programs for financial stability.
“Fight For And Protect Social Security And Medicare With No Cuts, Including No Changes To The Retirement Age” is one of the twenty core promises highlighted in the platform.
On Wednesday, Trump took to Truth Social to amplify his message. “SENIORS SHOULD NOT PAY TAX ON SOCIAL SECURITY!” he declared, framing the tax elimination as a necessary step to ensure that seniors can keep more of their hard-earned benefits.
His statement has been met with enthusiasm from many, who view this proposal as a direct response to the financial struggles faced by older Americans.
They need to be turned away. We need to enforce current law. Hire an illegal, get prosecuted and fined heavily. Hire a bunch of them, RICO and lose your business and all assets.
“”Social Security ALREADY is not taxable for many depending on income. The max rate is 85% is taxable.””
As usual, I did not read far enough to see that someone else pointed out the obvious....Thanks. Hope it clears that issue up for FR but I think the Trump campaign needs to clean that up....it sounds like a tactic of the dems. It’s not smart OR right!
Trump knows what issues speak to the voters.

omg
“”Excellent! GO TRUMP!””
Read on - SS benefits are not subject to taxes NOW - UNLESS.............
Yep. He should mention that this lame brained greedy idea came from Senator Biden and has his name on it
Wow that would be great. It’s always been BS that it was taxed. You are forced to pay into it your whole working life than they tax it when draw from it.
“Social Security ALREADY is not taxable for many depending on income. The max rate is 85% is taxable.”
So you are okay with some people being robbed as long as it is not you?
According to that link, anybody smart enough to NOT depend entirely on Socialist Insecurity for retirement income is going to be paying income taxes on at least part of his Socialist Insecurity benefit.
There is no tax on SS benefits now unless certain limits are in place - Benefits PLUS OTHER INCOME etc., so the campaign needs to clean that up...The dems pull tricks like this but I expect better of the Trump campaign...or is that going to be more of the same sloppy work we saw when he was in office and he appointed people for jobs they weren’t suited for???
Donald J. Trump/JD Vance already have my vote. This is just further inducement to show up at the polls.
Great GOTV strategy. Every SS recipient benefits directly.

Thank you.
No one can live on just SS!
It's income, like any other form of income, when you income hits a threshold. It's not disingenuous.
So,really all that’s needed is for Trump to delete that word UNLESS..
Easy peasy
Many don’t pay tax on it already.
Depends on income level
What’s the problem? You don’t understand?
It's not a tatic and is correct, as any normal person with a brain would understand.
“”No one can live on just SS!””
Anyone who believes they COULD, evidently didn’t have a very good plan for their retirement...
Taxing it never made sense. It’s just returning money lent by the employee to the government.
