A firebrand Muslim clerk eyed up an island on the border of the United States and Canada to purchase and turn into an Islamic state.
In a video to his followers, Sheikh Yasser al-Habib, 45, an extremist scholar who already runs military-style training camps, revealed he is in advanced talks to buy an island off the west coast of Scotland.
His group plans to build its own school, hospital and mosque on the island, where it intends to practice sharia law.

He wanted to buy an island in Canada. Didn’t work out. So he’s in Scotland now.
The Canadian island in question was likely James Island, only about 3/4 mile off the Saanich Peninsula. It was the site of a major munitions plant (it supplied the equivalent of 1/12 of all munitions used by both sides in WW I ) and the plant operated until the mid 1970s. I used to go boat-camping there quite a bit, buzzing into Roche Harbour on San Juan Island to get cheap American beer.
The native band that lives next to it has wanted to claim it back for years, but the fedgov still puts hurdles in their way. I’m surprised that the LIEberals didn’t allow the islamic radical’s purchase, it would fit their modus operandum perfectly.
