Washington CNN — The election authorities of at least 48 states, both Republicans and Democrats, say there are no obstacles that would prevent Vice President Kamala Harris from getting on election ballots if she becomes the official Democratic presidential nominee, as expected.
The findings of a CNN survey of all 50 states undercut the claims of House Speaker Mike Johnson, who said both before and after President Joe Biden dropped out of the race on Sunday that there are legal “impediments” in some states to a party switching presidential candidates as the Democrats did. There was not a single state election authority that told CNN Harris would face a ballot issue as the official nominee; election authorities in two states, Florida and Montana, did not respond to requests for comment, but a review of the states’ ballot access rules suggests Harris is not likely to face an issue there either.

Now can we please focus on showing independents what Harris would do to our country?
Think back now to the Bill Dewin signed to accommodate the dementiacrats late primary.
I agree. There is too much noise. We are stepping all over ourselves with stupid distractions.
The real debate is inside the Democratic Party. The DNC chose Kamala Harris as their candidate, ignoring the will of their people in the primaries.
Exactly.
The dems haven’t even had their convention yet. How could there be a problem putting the eventual nominee’s name on ballots that should not have been printed yet? Besides, the dems may decide they need to pull another switcheroo if they decide that Cackles might not be able to save Our Democracy™.
How about Wisconsin and Nevada? I they have deadlines.
Fine. How about the powers that be start pointing out what a horrible and flawed person and politician Heels Up is. Tue drooling of the media is downright sickening!
Not sure exactly true. The Dems have until Aug 7th to make their nominee. They were always going to put a non-nominated candidate on the ballot. It now just happens to be Coupala.
Ask the states if Trump was serious injured in Butler and dropped out . Would they allow someone else on the ballot.
And since when have state laws mattered to Rat Party Headquarters?
They have deadlines but the incumbant President in office is automatically free from this deadline. But Klammy is not the incumbant President.
What about all that democracy drivel?
Correct.
Well, if CNN said it, it must be so.
What do the 49th and 50th state have to say?
In WA State, the Presidential Primary was done much earlier this year. The March 12th results were among Democrats: Joe Biden 83.47%. Not word about Kamala. See https://results.vote.wa.gov/results/20240312/president-democratic-party.html
Now in WA State we have a “faithless elector” law that has jail time and fines for those that do not vote in accordance with the primary. https://www.seattleweekly.com/news/supreme-court-says-state-can-punish-wa-faithless-electors/
Can the DNC (and it has in the past with Sanders versus Clinton) do whatever it wants damn the voters? Yes. Is it legal in all states? NOPE.
Will Kamala’s name be put on the November WA State ballot? Absolutely, unless the court intercedes in this absolutely blue state (not likely, as they will find some twisted reason to put her on the ballot).
So the CNN survey was badly flawed and “false news.”
What's even more sickening is that too many of us are still funding that media with our TV subscriptions.
Count me in with those who say we are wasting time and effort on these distractions. We’ll need to beat Harris in November, period.
